The boy loves books. At 4 years old I couldn't ask for more. He loves to read to anyone who will let him. Usually that's Me, Daddy or Madi - the girls are usually doing their reading when he's reading. He loves interpreting pictures and recognizing words. He can recognize a number words in most stories and acts like he's won the lottery. Very exciting. He beams at his progress, I love it!
We've been reading the BOB books as a slow attempt to start our homeschool preschool. I pulled them out Monday and it was like I pulled out a new toy. He was so excited. He dove into them and has been reading away. If you remember correctly, we started last spring with to Homeschool our Preschool with Dev. He's made great progress. He knows all letters and 90% of the letter sounds (there some tricky ones like C that he mistakes for "see" instead of the hard K sound or Q that is just hard to say alone anyway). We've been rollin' slowly but he's getting there.
We've been playing with letter sounds and moving onto rhyming ending sounds to create words. He just ate it up. He loves to read. He is a star pupil. He's now starting to write and I'm hoping ::ahem:: that Husband will get the printer hooked up and it'll be ready for me to scan in some of his letters. You might be a lucky family or friend who will receive Dev's first hand written letter.
