Weekend Adventures

Happy Monday! I am diggin' this Monday. Well, first off Husband's home - not that I want him to be home under these circumstances (we'll get to that soon enough) but it's always nice to have him around. Nana is home too with a fever...more on that in a few too.

We're starting our adventure with Thursday.

Thursday was bug and garden adventure day. We went into our garden to pick flowers and see all the creepy bugs. The three of us were trying to be brave adventurers and see what kind of cool webs the spiders made and see where the bugs like to live in our yard. Introduce ourselves in hopes they'll stop creepin' in our house in our dark corners and we can go down the stairs without yelling for Mommy or be in the same room with them without Mommy being forced to pick them up and put them outside. Sicknast.

Nana spent the night at Em's house that Thursday night when the C6 were getting ready for their Aunty's big wedding! Nana and Em love their time together. But for whatever reason, Nana was especially naughty that night. She was making up songs and drawing things that ::ahem:: are inappropriate. We had to have a big talk about how it's not funny to draw certain body parts and that writing songs about pee-pee and poo-poo were along the same lines of bad dinner table talk. We were embarrassed and it was the last thing they needed to deal with prepping for their sister's wedding. Nana felt horrible about it after she understood the magnitude of her mistake. Denise and Dao knew there was instant remorse when she was caught so we made sure she knew that remorse is good but thinking before we act is better. They are wonderful friends and handled it so well with Nana.

On the upside, Isa and I got some Mommy time that night and dove into The Chronicles of Narnia. She hasn't put it down much this weekend which makes me oober excited. She loves all things magical especially a book that can take her places that otherwise would be impossible. Not my style of reading but I'll take it. Excitement about reading is my dream come true for my kids. I can't get enough.

Friday, we had our playdate with the N4. Little Tyler and Ella came to play with us. We love our Friday playdate with them. Ella and Madi crack me up. Madi calls her "ya-ya". Ella is the only one she deliberately calls by name.

The boys looking for droids...I tried to direct them outside but there was the bug factor. Dev would rather walk over fire then come into close contact with a bug. Big or small.

The girls stealing the boys' cars that were "bombs" around the house. They felt victorious at that moment.

It was especially yummy straight from the oven. :)

What's a playdate without the Wii Mariokart? Dev's favorite game right now. Tyler was bored but Dev coulda played it until the cows came home. He was good about recognizing that Tyler didn't want to watch him anymore.

Saturday morning soccer. Yes, folks. Surprising isn't it to hear that we were watching soccer and Daddy was coaching? Sike. You know how we do. G.E. was our super soccer grandpa, of course and help us transport the kids around that Saturday. Nana got picked up that morning to go to the zoo with Nat and they were going to meet us at Nana's game that afternoon. Isa's game was up first and they tied 3-3. Isa went with her friend, Livi for a playdate after Livi's game that was right after Isa's. We, then jammed over to Dev's game where we were down - Coach Dao (and Pay) had his sister's wedding, Jules was sick, Sawyer was camping and Livi (our and Pay's cousin) was going to the wedding too. We had Dev, Antony, Lindsey and Alison. After Livi left 8 minutes into their game time - it was them holding it down. We were playing the Hello Kitties (who's coach has a strong ethic of victory that he drives home to his players - we played his other team the Sharks...the league made them move up because they just creamed the U4/U5 league). We spanked the Hello Kitties and although we're not all about winning...it felt good.

After the game, since we only had 2 out of 4 kids we went out to lunch with G.E. before Nana's game. The Purple Flames didn't do so hot that day but totally made up for it Sunday. They played AWESOME! It was totally what they needed. They are team that's played together for 3 years now and play well. For the first time, this season, we saw them passing - hustling and scoring!!

(PS G.E. towed our van to his shop that afternoon/evening as well - love our G.E.!)

Daddy multi-tasking - coaching and being Daddy.

Sunday, we had quite the day. Kaysea (Madi's favorite 15 year old - who is #3 of the S7) was going to babysit Madi and Nana. When I picked her up, she disclosed she had double booked herself. The girl is sweeter than sweet so I knew it was hard for her to even tell us. I called my Mom and asked if she could drive out to watch the little ones so we could go to Husband's game (some of his players from his team he coaches were coming to watch him so he wanted me there). My Mom saved the day and came out to relieve Kaysea.

FC Internationale won their first game, 3-1! Husband went up for a header in the first quarter and landed on his heel. Bruised it. Bad. He tried to keep playing but the last quarter he sat out. He felt so bad with his players there - he wanted to score for them and show them some good plays but we could all tell he was hurting. Nana's game was right after and she played so well! Husband sat down the whole game. I knew he was hurt then. He had his assistant coach referee for him and sat down to keep track of what Purple Flame was in and out for their game. Nana came up to me right after the game and said her head hurt. We went home and she had a pretty 101.5 temp.

I snuck a picture of my nephew, Jaydes in Madi's dress up shoes! He's looking away trying to deny it. LOVE IT!!

Sicky 1 and Injured 2, welcome to the couch!

Madi and Dev reading in bed together Sunday night. Love it.

It is always fun being there with the fantastic 4. The boys are wild and the girls are so adorable. Love the pic of Dev and Mad in the car bed. How sweet!
