Mommy Daughter Play Date

My summer goal is to spend individual time with each kid and make it a more routine thing. If I don't plan then it's so easy to put it off. Anyway, Mommy and Madi day was last week. So, this week we had a play date with Zo and her Momma at none other than Trophy. Isa already has her time planned out - sushi and scrapbooking together at Lasting Memories. We will be doing that right after our move. Dev doesn't really get it yet but the older girls completely get it and appreciate it.

Zo is well known on my blog for being Nana's best friend, they've been friends since they were 4 years old so a total of 3 years but in kid years that's like forever. It was nice to get some Mommy time with her mom instead of the small talk "hi, how ya doin'? what time is pick up?" We had some good chatty time and some good eatin'.

Mmmmm, Zo's Momma and I ♥ cupcakes and Zo's Momma makes the cutest ones - I keep telling her she should start her own Mommy business. Mommies would drool over her beautifully made cupcakes for their kids' birthday parties or any occasion really. She made the butterfly cupcakes at our end of spring soccer party and has made jaguar cupcakes for our fall soccer team. The woman has talent I tell ya! Anyhoo...here's our Saturday morning adventure.

Mmm, Trophy.

Nana and Zo got Triple Chocolate, Dana (Zo's Momma) got Strawberry Cheesecake and I got Hummingbird (which was Banana, Pinapple and Coconut). So good. Plus the girls basically skipped lunch and ate a cupcake, how often are they allowed to do that? Like never. Very special day for them. They were even wearing their "my friend is Nana" and "my friend is Zo" buttons they made at the carnival.

U Village outdoor mall had a sidewalk sale so we wandered and hung out. The girls ended up getting matching shirts at the Gap to remember their special day always.

Nanny playing on the steel cow in the middle of the eating areas and stores.

Zo on the larger cow.

We had a great time. It was special to spend time with just Nanny. Thank you to Zo and Dana for a wonderful morning and thanks for driving, that was a treat!

Zo's brother Ian got to play with Dev so it was a win win for Dev one less sister and gained a play date. We also brought home a special cupcake for my special helper at home, Isa who helped watch Madi while Daddy got stuff done around here. She enjoyed Vanilla Chocolate cupcake. I took just my girls to the Edmonds Market (if you haven't gone you should go) to visit my aunt's booth she sells the cutest hobos and messengers + skirts. Then, we picked up boxes for more packing. We are almost there.

Those cupcakes look soooo yummy!
And I totally agree, Dana should start her own business! Her cupcakes are amazing and Trophy worthy!
P.S. I love the matching shirts. I remember doing that with my bestee when I was little. How fun!

Adorable shirts, are they popsicles? I have yet to try Trophy cupcakes as I am normally a cupcake royal follower.

Good rule of thumb: you can never, EVER go wrong with cupcakes. :-)

yes, you ALL should try trophy if you haven't already. :D it is super delicious.

@june and denise! they were so cute that day. :) they were totally sugared out. i got them a vanilla bean frap to share that day too.

@nikki: yes, popsicles. they were so excited although it ties around the neck so their back is open - the girls were a bit uneasy about that but they quickly got over after they realized how cute they were!

@lilu: thanks for stopping aby again and yes, cupcakes are the best!
