Yak Attack Part II

Part II of our Yakima trip consisted with a morning of let down. I put on a skirt hoping it would chase the clouds away, burn off and I'd be able to soak up some Vitamin D.

Um...no we got rain and disappoint of losing our first game. As much as I want to believe it's not about winning...losing gets old. Just sayin'. We are a REC team, we play for fun. BUT, we are a darn good REC team that can hang with most select/premier teams. That we did do. IF we were "on" it would've been a different tournament but some reason, we were off.

Last year, we went and won taking our league in 3rd overall (losing in shoot out - which is a crappy way to lose if you ask me). We had some serious rain. And, played some phenomenal teams. We are so proud of the girls because we lost by a minimum of 1 against these premier teams. Not bad at all but knowing how good our players are and their potential it pained me to see their disappointment after losing.

One thing about this team, they can leave it on the field and have a good time together which is what tournaments are about - F to UN!

We played 5 a side. 1 DEFENDER essential was in the back. Isa held it down and we are super duper duper proud of our baby girl! She is a strong defender and has made HUGE strides in her soccer skills. She loves the game. She has learned to play aggressively and most importantly...she has passion.

My Mom, Dad, brother (Tyler) + sister (Gabby) came out to join in on the not so sunny weather but exciting soccer. The kids were so happy to see them! They joined us all day and stayed through dinner.

And, I'm proud of the man in blue. He is the best coach I could ever ask for - not saying that because I'm partial being his wife. But man, he coaches and players improve. They listen and respect him because he (too) lives and breathes the game. His passion radiates (he'd probably hate that I just described him that way, dontcha just picture a big soccer beam from the top of him...I do) from him and is contagious.

Isa and the gang (7/10 girls). We all stayed on the same floor and had a blast with our soccer friends!

We ate at Bob's Burgers and Brew.

The girls made this "potion" and dared Coach to drink it. He said "if I drink this you guys GOTTA WIN tomorrow!" They all giggled and were disgusted...yet amazed at him for daring to drink this disgusting cup of whatever it was.

UM, yeah. Dis. Gust. ING. I can NOT believe he drank it. If you know my husband, you know his stomach is not made of steel. AND, how gross does that LOOK?!! Pretty friggin' gross!

I had to highlight my mushroom chicken burger...YUM. And, I read they were famous for their Turtle Sundae. Yeah, SOLD! The candied pecans in icecream...I almost forgot to snap a picture. Then, the kids passed out in a sugar coma. The space invader holds no prisoner. I feel for her future husband.

TSUNAMI FTW!

The last game was early. We had to be at the field by 8am. And, we had the craziest two minutes ever with two of girls (including our goalie) get hurt and because it's 24 minutes of game and nearly no fouls called - we had to sweep the field rescuing a hurt player. It was insane. But the girls handled it well and kept their composure while watching their friends go down. Needless to say, we lost that game and that left us plenty of time to watch other games, eat and bounce.

After our last game, the girls signed each other's shirt. I was so pleased to see that they even let me little ones sign. Everyone was impressed at Madi's name writing skills. She is getting better and better...and even starting to write "d"s.

Then, we jumped. Actually, we jumped all weekend $32 bought the kids free reign of the bouncy houses for the weekend. Money well spent because they JUMPED and JUMPED.

She was a mess. A bouncy mess. She could not get enough of it. We made our trek home. The girls rode with their friends and we took the little kids on our Eastern Washington trip of beef jerky and icecream.
