Yak Attack Part I

It was that time of year again...Yak Attack! This year we came down Friday...which made a difference. We are able to relax and really prep for the upcoming day of soccer.

Before any trip with the G6 is always tons of prep. I feel like it's a week long process for me probably because it is. We make our salty and sweet bags of trail mix for the road. And, because we anticipated hot weather we had to stock up and dig up all the summer stuff. Last year, it was close to 90 degrees so we needed to get prepped. It didn't predict as hot of weather but 75-80 degress was the forecast. Plus, my two big girls had major projects on top of it all. By Friday afternoon, I was ready to sit in the car and just ride.

The girls ended up riding with the P4...good friends of ours while we had the littlies. I begged for a pair of the big girls but they wanted to ride in the P4's car. Another sign, they're getting bigger. And, as usual they were inseperable the whole trip. Isa's friend, So-So is moving on to a Select team so this will be the last tournament together. They were more clingy to each other than usual.

They're getting to an age things change. I have told Isa...relationships/friendships are work. So, if you want to stay in contact you gotta hold yourself accountable too and be as thoughtful and sensitive to her experiences as you can. A good friend will do the same.

Back to the hotel....

There are so many tournaments during that time in Yakima that the hotels are packed hence the pools are packed. I was surprised I got this picture of them in the hot tub. I made them wait it out until it was completely empty. Small quarters make for accidents. I knew I could control this group of excellent listeners.

There was a Happy Hour that the hotel hosted for their guests. You got 4 free beverages a night in the hotel per room. So, the parents were relaxing. I usually volunteer to watch the kids because I have the youngest in the group.

Then, after a long evening of swimming the kids did some reading in bed. Nana got the Color Nook as an early birthday present in lieu of a big friend party from Grandma + us. She is loving all the reading she can do and the games she can play. Her first big girl present. The part I like is that Dev can use my Nook with Nana's books on it (we share the same account) and read too. He read Madi a bed time story.

Isa engrossed in one of the best teen fiction series out there (no, not Twilight...although that too is a good series) - Mortal Instruments.

Of course, I have more on this but you'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm hoping I can gather more pictures from other parents with their fancy cameras.
