Baby Tyson's Baby Shower!

Daddy and Isa went to celebrate her friend, Cassidy's (Daddy's best buddy's daughter) birthday and I stayed home to prep for our next event...Baby Tyson's Baby Shower. No, I wasn't hosting. Kae's Aunts on her W Family side were and I offered to help so they gave me games. Kae's Aunt had prepared and bought all the games, I just provided prizes. Her other Aunt was going out of town so they asked if I could help. Her Aunt Carolyn provided her beautiful home and food.

I offered to make 3 things...2 turned out great - my Man Dip, Tortellini Salad and Peanut Butter Crispy Bars. Kae does a ton for our kids so we were happy to do something special for her.

I wanted to make something wholesome, delicious and incorporate Kae's (Daddy's cousin and Baby Tyson's Momma) so I found this recipe. I shared on Facebook thinking I could go healthier I used evaporated cane sugar vs white sugar. Baking no-no. And, I used Trader Joe's Crispy Rice instead of the real stuff which may have or have not made a difference. Anyway, after hours of layering...my crispy rice layer wasn't crispy.

I was so bummed. I was really hoping it would've worked out and plus I spent hours on it. So, FAIL it did. I ended up stopping by Whole Foods and getting a dark chocolate bundt cake that was yummy too. So, no one went without chocolate.

My tortellini salad that I make for every event it seems. It's a cold pasta salad that's cheese tortellini, bacon (or sausage), peppers, tomatoes, celery, carrots and red onions then toss with any italian dressing. It's a spin off my girlfriend, Tina's salad. She uses pasta instead of tortellini. Hers is much more healthy I'm sure but just as delicious if not more so.

Layer 2 - chocolate and peanut butter. Still sad.

Dev was so excited. I let him build a new Lego Ninjago set his buddy, Kaden got him on his own while I was prepping food for the baby shower. Nana was helping but...she ended up getting engrossed in Despciable Me.

No shower is c omplete without hersey roses with ribbons of Tyson James and Kae + Time and a diaper cake! What did people do before Diaper Cakes?

Tim and Kae. I hope they got everything they wanted. I was game guru and I had the most fun watching how competitive the W Fam and G Fam are. Sheesh! They got a good start to their baby future with one more shower to go!
We love you, Baby Tyson!

Wow! Such an elegant display! Too bad those peanut butter crispies didn't turn out. They look tasty.
P.S. Nice pic of Kaedra and Tim. :)
