Reality Check [kinda]

I have mixed feelings about back to school. On one hand, I love fall. I love the rain [don't yell at me, Seattlites]. I love the smell of backpacks and freshly sharpened pencils.

But, I miss my kiddies. I miss them cuddling with me in the morning. I miss them. Sure, they fight a bit more being around each 24/7 and drive me nutso at times but it's all worth it. I love the time we spend together.

Monday was reality check day. We missed Nana's work party [sorry, Nancy!] on Thursday due to a sick Nana. But, Monday they were feeling okay enough to make an appearance and support their classes. My sister, Darbs was with us that morning and volunteered with Isa in her class. Later on that day the yucks hit Isa...I think she may have been fakin' the funk - she probably felt cruddy earlier that day but was too excited to miss out on seeing her classmates.

3 in school? Where is the time going?
My 5th grader [2nd year in her class], my 3rd grader [3rd year in her class, a very exciting time - they are role models for their other classmates so Nana is oober excited to be a role model] and my Kindergartener.

Work Parties and Socials = Setting the classrooms and mingling with classmates + their families.
PLUS Isa's new 'do.

Then...rain. We were in Seattle for the doctor and fun. We went to the Science Center earlier this summer [Father's Day with the C6] but weren't able to do the Circus exhibit so today...we did + Darbs and O [my sister and brother] were with us too. Boy, I was not mentally prepared for the lines. 3 hours later we left the exhibit with happy kids able to tight rope walking and acrobat jumping.

10 fun size bags of M&Ms and lots of waiting later - Isa, Nana, Darbs, Em and Kaylin had all the circus fun in the exhibit. :)

6 flips...I'm dizzy just watching her.

She was so proud of herself walking that line!

Okay, so reality's here whether I want it to be or not. I am pooped and the school doors haven't even opened yet. :)

I am so proud of my kids - they have made huge strides this summer. I see them growing into the coolest lil' people I've ever known and it makes me all fuzzy inside. Have I mentioned I love them?

Aww...I'm right there with ya, it's all bitter sweet!
I love that they have the work parties and socials, but that + soccer + end of summer activities = busy and exhausted Mommies!
