Veggie Garden Step I

Hi, we're peaking through the sick cloud that was hanging over our house and returning to healthy happy people! This week's energy level in our house has been a constant battle with sick kiddies hanging out through out the week - one gets better then another one goes down. 2 different viruses hit our house, lovely - right? We are on the mend - the fevers are gone. ::crosses fingers::

Yesterday, we packed ourselves in our van and headed to Flower World to pick our veggies for our garden. We had a lot of work lined up and if we just cleared out our garden area again it would've been an accomplishment. Daddy DID so much more! We got it cleared out and got our organic soil down.

We worked a ton with Grandpa Wade and Grandma Kim on the first day of spring THEN soccer and life happened. So, we didn't finish what we started. I planted bulbs in our flower bed off the walkway but hadn't had a chance to tackle the veggie garden. This weekend was our last chance so we buckled down in the rain to have at it.

I was on light duty. My energy was good but I was working mainly on the pots on our deck.

Nana was helping me with the pots, moving the soil around and planting more bulbs and seeds.

Daddy decided to make a barrier for this crazy wild grass that was growing everywhere invading our garden bed. He yanked all the roots, pulled the rocks and made a barrier for our garden. IT looks great!

The C6 got me a Topsy Turvy for my birthday. I got some strawberry plants but wanted to fill it up more with different kinds of strawberries. The kids loved to throw dirt in it and can't wait to pick the strawberries.

Gotta stay hydrated with San Pellegrino. :)

Daddy's rock barrier right before he put the soil down. On the other side of the ferns is our man made creek that is another project Daddy would like to get going...his personal mission. It hasn't been started in 8 years so we'll see...
Stay Tuned for Step II

Wow! You guys were braving it in the yucky rain! It looks great, so far. I like the rock barrier and hope that the creek will work for David!
P.S. So glad you guys are feeling better!
