Quiet House

Here's a switch...usually it's either me OR Daddy sick. This time it's both of us. Weird, right?

What's even more weird is that our kids are gone. Grandpa Eddie had planned on going to the Wong's Family Picnic - Grandpa Eddie's Sister, Aunty Lori's Husband's Family - the families are relatively close [Hahaha! Get it?] the G Family has always gone.

Well, the new generation of Wongs are taking it over basically, our age group. His cousins were hosting it this year as the new generation. Husband was all amped to go and bring the kids - he wanted us to do the egg toss, potato sack races the whole shabang then, we got sick. Bummed my poor Husband out - the man loves healthy competition. Kinda like Cheaper By The Dozen 2 when I think of friendly family competitions! ::chuckle::

Grandpa Eddie is famous around our close friends and soccer families. He's often referred to as Saint Grandpa Eddie around here. He's at all events - choir/orchestra concerts included to support the kids and is always helpful while Daddy coaches. He lives 45 minutes away and we always remind our kids how lucky they are he comes out. I think they forget and expect to see him at everything even school events during the day their own Daddy can't attend!

But, it was still a surprise - he picked up our kids when he found out we were sick and took them to the picnic. We are all alone. Sick. Alone. We sat outside to try to feel more human and enjoy our hard work. But quickly came back in to slink ourselves back onto the couch.

Thank you, Grandpa Eddie! We appreciate you giving us a break while we're sick!
