I am going to miss him oodles and oodles when he goes to Kindergarten in the fall. He is really the first child that I have spent since newborn age being home with. When we had #3, it only made sense for me to stay home. So, being home with him all this time then losing him 5 days a week for few hours makes me sad.
But, he's not there yet so I will enjoy the last of our reading adventures. When I say adventures...I mean adventures. The boy is extremely smart. We are starting to read I Can Read Level 1. He is starting to miss his sight words because they aren't as repetitive as they are in BOB books. Since the books he's been reading have been fairly easy on him now that there is a challenge he is starting to get discouraged. It's frustrating because you know they know how to over come this challenge...but for Mr. Loverkins needs me to walk him through it instead of demand it from him. He responds better to positive encouragement. We sit and talk about the book and I usually do a read-through with him before I let him tackle it on his own. He hates my infamous phrase when we are reading together "sound it out." His response "I do, it never sounds the same as what the letters are 'posed to be." Dang. He's right...so I made flash cards for sight words hoping that he won't bring that up again. :)
In Gymnastics his social hour of the week - he loves this class! His challenge was to climb the rope. Husband and I both knew he was going to do it and he actually didn't want us to go. Uncle Dao was still recovering from his concussion and he really wanted to Uncle Dao and Aunty Denise to take him. She is so good about remembering to take pictures. Before I could remind her she said "don't worry, we'll take pictures!" Love them! After his victory, achievement they took out for his favorite Costco Hot Dog (he's a cheap date!). Thanks, guys - he enjoys his special one-on-one time with you all.
We talked to Dev that morning before class saying "just try to ring the bell, we know that you can do it!" And...
Guess what?

You forgot to mention that he is the only one in the class that can and will do it!!
He is for sure the star of the class!
We ♥ him!
I've been looking at gymnastics classes for M to help with his gross motor delays. We need to chat! :)
Awesome! I don't even think I could do that.
Hmmm...does every gymnastic/dance place in Western Washington have those silhouettes painted on the walls?
