Well, you know Saturday I was saved by Grandpa Eddie and Denise helping me shuffle around Isa while we had 2 sickies at home.
Denise saved the day again...I had a pre-planned Ladies Night at my house. My girlfriend, Cristina wanted to host an evening full of my Aunt's handmade bags, handmade jewelry from Hook n Beads and Shenalyn came to pamper us ladies with relaxing scalp massages to waxing services. Fun, right? Well, Mister Dev felt much much much better - did you know the steroids they use in nebulizer treatments make kids hyper? Yeah, they do. Or at least they make my little man hyper -between his inhaler, nebulizer treatments and his antibiotics he was like a new man within 24 hours. Crazy.
I went back and forth about cancelling...but considering it was the evening before and Dev was feeling better I didn't. I asked one of best friends, Mari to come by early so we could chat and she could hang with the kids. Well, that didn't happen. She helped me make Fruit Brushetta while I puzzled over Pioneer Woman's Mocha Brownies (no link...you have to buy her cookbook for that recipe, folks!). I had poor planning...in reading the recipe I thought my in the fridge time for the brownies were going to be shorter than they were. I know, I know - I'm being obsessive but...I AM!
It turned out to be a blast! We had so much fun!! Well needed for me - so thanks, ladies! It was a lot of Cristina's friends and my close friends since I had already had a Holiday Party in November. Thanks, Cristina for collaborating a fun evening! Miss Madi wasn't running a fever and Dev was getting hyphy from all his meds so Husband took them a short distance to the C6's house for a couple hours. Thanks, C6 for hanging with Husband and kids (and letting our big girls stay with YOU)!
Well, Ladies Night lasted well after they got home. Husband hung with the ladies and we all caught up because during the last few months it seemed like we hadn't seen anyone between soccer season and the holidays! SO, it was good times for sure. Mari, thanks for helping so much - you helped prep and clean up...when you were really supposed to be a guest! :)
This was a hit! So easy and yummy!
Thanks again, everyone!

Sounds like a blast!! Wish we lived closer!! I love Ladies night!
That fruit bruschetta looks yummy. Is that mallow on top? YUM! I think you should set off a lysol bomb in your house. You guys have had a rough winter. Hope everyone gets well very soon!
I had so much fun at ladies night! The food was so yummy! I need to get the brie recipe from Mari, or do you have it? That fruit bruschetta was so tasty! what a treat to have strawberries and Kiwi in the winter! I am totally craving those PW brownies right now. I only let Dao have a taste of the ones you sent home and I ate the rest!
Thanks for a fun night! My ribs still hurt from laughing so much!
@june: i know i know - you are working hard.
@heidi: wish you could've come but you had your party the same night. how'd that party go?
@nikki: dude - i totally thought mallow would rock on there! but the recipe was for vanilla yogurt - delicious but mallow would be even more sinful!
@denise: seriously, it was the best remedy to a crazy week!
Yogurt sounds yummy too...with a little drizzle of honey? I'm hungry.
