Purple Flames Season Ends!

Woohoo!! This team has been together since Kindergarten U6 and they have played both fall and spring together. What can I say? I heart this team. I love the parents. I love the coach. I love it all. The Flames had an interesting season but I think 4 kids off the team were adjusting to new schools and new time changes with their new school. At least I know that Nana was in a cloud for awhile. If her ducks are lined up in a row, she gets thrown off balance. But this season was about having fun and that they did!

I ask Nana all the time if she still wants to play and leave an out for her if she doesn't...she does! Sometimes I look at her and I see that she's in "Nana-land" ( this is our family's way of saying "she just wants to have fun and move at her own pace") then I wonder, is this still fun for her? I ask and the answer is always always always "YES!". I think she loves having fun and soccer = fun. She is not the most aggressive but is one excellent dribbler and can certainly be aggressive...when she wants to be. When we see a spark in her - it almost takes us back. She firmly believes in being nice to everyone and using her playground etiquette rules. I tried to tell her that we don't have to follow those exact rules on the field that being aggressive is okay overly aggressive may not be (at least in Mommy's book - Grandpa Eddie and Daddy see differently on that one. :P ). We know she has it in her and when see it we always are rooting for her louder. She is out there for the pure fun. Gotta love that - plus it keeps me grounded. I tend to get a bit wrapped up and have been known to "coach" from the sidelines. I know, I know. Bad Mommy. Let the Daddy do the coaching.

All credits go to Peter A. who took these photos. Every season he puts together a CD for every one of the team members on the team. He thoroughly rocks! We appreciated it A Family!

I love their cheers. Husband always asks them "what should we say?" and it gets the girls so excited to shout out their friend's or their picks! 1, 2, 3...PURPLE FLAMES!

Like I said...fun. Nana brought these cards (without my knowledge) she got them as a prize at their school Bear Scare for Halloween. So, why not play a game of Go Fish?

I love how he made this photo with their sweatshirt logo and all the girls! Peter, thank YOU!

They all look like their listening! Even Nana - she tends to be the one sort of hearing instead of listening. I think she feels like she can hear Daddy because he she hears his voice a lot at home. :)

I have no idea what this face is about but it's totally and utterly her.

Her tongue is out in concentration with homework, reading...and apparently in soccer!

She actually stopped to pose for the picture! HA!

Um, who's child is that anyway - Coach Dave? I think he has countless times swooped her off the field during a game. Where am I? Oh, probably chatting, managing the other 3 or chatting. Whoops! Thanks, Coach Dave!

Today was the Purple Flames' End of Season Party. We bowled like we have been for the last 3 seasons. This morning, Isa had a game at 9am and they left at 8:15am, I had a Holiday Party with my friend, Mari at her Mom's house at 10am so I took the little ones and jammed down to Seattle with my bestie, Cristina. We hung out then I jammed back down to our 'hood for the Bowling Party...leaving at 8:45am this morning, I forgot my camera at home. So, no bowling pictures this year or of Mari's fun Holiday Party! OR pictures of Dana's (Coach Dave's wife, Nana's and Dev's buds - Zo and Ian's Momma) Purple Flames cupcakes!! She actually copied the logo for their team, made it into purple chocolate and placed them on the cupcake!! As soon as I get the photos from Coach Dave, I will post it - probably with the Tornadoes End of Season Party pictures!

Last Crazy Soccer Saturday of the season! Now, for Crazy Soccer Sunday! We only have one more game for Isa (we took 3rd place in our league - which for a new U10 team is AWESOME in my book!), one party and Daddy game. While we're on the subject of games...Isa's game at 9am they won 3-1 which is AWESOME! But, lost to our rival the Blue Cheese 0-3 (I know, ouch!) and we play Isa's old Pink Panthers team before Husband decided to break off and coach. It has been an amazing ride with the all 3 teams this year but mainly I'm proud of my husband who coaches them. He is doing a tremendously giving thing to our community. He has much talent himself so to see him play and see his players watching him play at his games even...just shows how much they appreciate him and his coaching! Okay, I'll stop gushing my love for him! :)

what a sweet post! Your husband is amazing! I mean he works his booty off at work, comes home ready to help, and then coaches 3 soccer teams on the weekends! It's okay to gush!
P.S. that pic of Hannah with that look on her face she has while playing keeper, um... I am pretty sure I have seen you with that exact same look! lol
