June 12 = Years of Joy

Nana-Boat her baby nickname turned 7 years old. Every birthday she has built up excitement in her from everyone turning a year older except for her (in her eyes but really she has at least 2 friends who have August birthdays so she should consider herself lucky). Yesterday was a happy day. The day she beamed all day long. Her whole week was great but yesterday she was all smiles.

We had a small party. I am not a fan of big parties. I have learned over the years that it is way too stressful drama galore with lots of little girls with different personalities at this age. This age especially is hard because they are just starting to be more independent; sleepovers and longer play dates with out Mommy. It is a learning step for them and brand new rules of etiquette so for me and my sanity I stick with small birthdays. She was allowed to invite 3 friends which would make 4 including her I also don't like odd numbers. Only one was from her school and is her one friend she plays with every day, Nat. The other two were buddies from outside school; Em, a close family friend and Zo, Co-Op buddy so they go way back. :) Moms, I hope you will understand in the midst of packing and moving this is what I could handle. Nana was great about keeping it on a hush as she didn't want to hurt any one's feelings either.

Grandpa Eddie and Daddy were here but...I didn't get pictures of them. Nana personally invited Grandpa Eddie herself. My parents had my sister's ballet recital. Grandpa Wade and Grandma Kim called and sang their famous birthday song...I wish I could record it to a mp3 from my answering machine to play on here. He makes it up essentially as he goes along and each song is original. It's pretty cool.

PS I made tutus for each girl who came and they wore them almost the entire tme.

My little Fancy Nana.

Cupcakes, Strawberry Cookie Straws and thank you cards for coming.

Making wands (you can't be fancy without a wand).

Em, Zo, Nat and Nana.

Posing and being fancy

What's a party without MarioKart?

Make your own pita pizzas.

Mmm, before entering the oven and devoured by 4 hungry girls.

Presents.

The finale of sidewalk chalk. Em's Momma took my 3 other kiddies so I can focus on the party and the girls were enjoying their sugar high (before the crash) and coloring themselves with chalk. We had icecream sundaes and cupcakes.

-------------------------------------------------------

This was earlier that day while the girls were at school. I watched Pay (Em's sister) so her Momma could focus at field day. Dev was begging for her to come over and it worked out in favor so Pay could play instead of watch Field Day - I learned from Dev; they never want to watch. They had a dancing party...I had to shoot from behind because if he knew I was doing it he would have stop...you understand, right?

Crusty...I was listening to Pandora (a Beyonce station) and didn't realize a bad word came out. So, excuse the profanity. We really wanted "all the single ladies" by Beyonce to come on and Dev got so pumped when he heard Lil' Wayne who can even understand him in the first place??...my apologies. :)
