Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day (yesterday)! We had a nice Father's Day. It was mellow and packed full of productivity. We went to the Woodland Park Zoo with Grandpa Eddie. We met at 10:10am and didn't leave until around 2:30pm. It was 4 hours of animal fun. It usually takes me 3 hours to get through the zoo with the kids alone so I was surprised it took us longer. It was probably because we took our time I wasn't in a rush to beat melt down point.

Habitat Loop
Love this part. We always start on the west side and about 1/3 of the way is this loop so the kids can let out some energy before we continue on.

We ate lunch too. I packed a picnic lunch for the daddies. I made tortellini salad (which was YUMMY), packed left over ribs from the baby shower Husband went to the day before (yes, he went a Man Shower), fruit salad and peanut butter and jam bars. Oh so good - it might have been that much better since we had been roaming the zoo for 3 hours so sitting down and eating would have been good no matter what we ate.

This is right in front of the...

penguin exhibit!! They're back! This was the highlight for my kids.

I just thought he was really cute eating his celery.

Zoomazium
I always save this for last because the kids can run themselves ragged and it will make for a peaceful ride home. Sure enough, as soon as we turned onto Phinney they were knocked out. Gotta love that!

The daddies talking while the kids were playing.

The girls (and Dev but he was beside me) waiting to touch the snake.

It was called the Corn Snake and the important question Dev had before he would go anywhere near it was "does it bite?" she responded by telling us "no, it is a constricter so it tightens itself around you when it feels threatened." Since it was in her arms Dev felt safe enough to pet it.

Nanny had her eye on the fat-tailed Gecko but we didn't get a chance to see it out of the cage.

My favorite Daddy watching his littlest play.

When we got home, we packed and cleaned. Daddy did some maintence to our fridge and some other items in our house that needed some TLC and then we ate dinner. At dinner I asked the kids:

What is your favorite thing that Daddy does with you or that you like most about him?

Nana: I love that you coach soccer. (Daddy asked "why?") Because you are a lot of fun when you coach us and I get to be with just you.

Dev: I love when you watch me play my Star Wars Leapster because I'm really really good.

Isa: I love when you play outside with me and play soccer because you're fun and fast. My friends love when you play with us.

Madi: ::big smile::

Then, we asked Daddy what he liked to do most with his daddy.

Daddy: I like going to sports events/games with my dad. Especially soccer.

We are grateful for all the daddies in our lives.
