Last week was exhausting...I'm glad it was over when it was. It went by quickly-don't get me wrong- with our 2 hour late start on Monday and Dev having an extra day of vacation it all seemed to be necessary as the week went on. I was back on double lattes (one in the AM and one right when Madi naps and the girls get home) to push through those evening activities. Chess Club, Board Meetings, Girl Scouts all started too soon and we just got our Registration for Spring Soccer!! Can this be already? The girls will be selling cookies again-presales start this Thursday so you should hear from us soon!! :) I'm not Cookie Mom, I retired that title when I became Chair of the Co-Op but I am Site Manager for Nana's Troop to help out a new Cookie Mom. Last year, I did both and it was hard to juggle so I took the easier job this year.
The kids were just as pooped as I was this week. They looked like zombies walking in Friday evening. Isa had a play date right after school at her friend, Hope's house until 4pm, Dev had a playdate with Will at our house from after school until 4pm too so I did the big loop of drop offs and wanted to make a diaper run before I could even leave the neighborhood they were zonked...asleep. Especially baby. She is so used to sleeping on the run that this Winter break threw her schedule off completely!! She is slowly working back into her routine and thankfully so.

Jules and Izzie's Dad came in for his Parent Enrichment (parent show 'n tell is what I like to call it) and played the drums for the kids. When he had told me he was planning on drums, I thought bongo. Silly me...he was so serious about bringing some drums in, man! The kids loved loved loved it. It was great! Jules rocked out on the drum throne (the stool) and after that Dev, Joesph, Will and Liam all had to get their share! They too, rocked it out!!
This is where his drumming got serious. He was born to rock! Thank goodness they were brushes and not the wood sticks because my ears and head couldn't have taken it. It was my work day so I was fortunate enough to get a good seat at my son rockin' out!On Saturday, the kiddies and Daddy slept in so that I could work on a Daisy Troop project I'm facilitating today. I had an idea in my head for scrapbooking. Nana has expressed interest in it too now. She loves pictures and going through them remembering all her great times with family and friends. Scrapping gives her that over and over with her own imagination and creativity. I thought mini scrapbooks for each girl would be a something they could use to catalog their Daisy (Girl Scout) experience.
Anyway, Isa and I left early Saturday to work on the Daisy Troop project and for her to get some scrapping done at Lasting Memories. I went to Michael's and JoAnne's to find some mini scrap books but they were far too pricey for 14 girls so I saw this idea at Lasting Memories.
You take brown paper sacks and fold them in half. I did that 3x to make a book for each girl. So, instead of $3 a book they were $0.10. Awesome, right? I punched 3 holes and then tied the pages together with ribbon. I bought Girl Scout scrap paper cut out each saying and made a cover for each book. I have extras for them to use on other pages. The bags make pockets too so the girls can put their patches or treasures from the woods or whatever in there. They will write their names on it and I will photograph each girl tonight develop it for them so they can start their books.
Dev and Jules went to Will's Saturday evening for a birthday party. It was a movie theme-they ate pizza, birthday cake and watched Wall-E. We picked up Izzie when we dropped off Dev to come hang with us.

Those books turned out adorable! I love that they are paperbags, so it is kinda Earthy too!
