Jingle Bell Bash

It was cold. It was wet. It was muddy. The end of our soccer season was this last weekend...the Jingle Bell Bash. Now, the original plan was to do this for the experience and for fun...not expecting how much Isa would gain and learn from these tournaments. She did 2. She did a Turkey Shoot and this last one the Jingle Bell Bash. The first one-the girls were their sweet selves. Apologizing if they bumped into some one standing back not being aggressive. But, I saw a change in a picture my father-in-law took...(G.E. you'll have to send that to me, I don't think I have it) but Isa was pushing with her shoulders being what (I guess) she's supposed to be doing. Being aggressive. This (as a Mom) was hard to get used to because well you spend most of their toddlerhood-school year years saying "be polite". Then, they go play sports and it's okay to push. I felt like my work was being sabotaged. Sabotaged by her father and grandfather asking me to back down and encourage her new found behavior on the soccer field. So, I backed off...said okay only on the soccer field are you able to push and shove in order to get the ball. Key words to get the ball and she was great about it afterwards she put on her pearly smile and said "good game". Which on a side note cracks me up, my girlfriend's Husband-Big D and mine play indoor soccer together and they are so brutal on the field or should I say aggressive (there are no manners on the soccer field is what I've come to learn) that I find myself yelling at Husband to be nice. What can I say? I'm a mom. Anyway...our husbands do the same. Totally brutal out there and then..."good game". Cracks us moms/wives up.

Oops, I got off subject...anyway the weekend was so fun. We visited our cousins in Lake Stevens with G.E. and even had our Aunty Linda stop by to say "hi". So, thank you to Kevin and Tara (Cooper too) for letting us hang in between our long stretch of games. We had a blast catching up with you guys and Aunty Linda!

Now for the muddy pictures...

She was trying to hug me. Is she crazy?

Kendie and Livi.

Isa trying to figure out how to drink her water and eat an orange with her muddy self.

My soccer troopers. They were so good completely content playing and getting as muddy as they could by the end of the day.

What do you do when the Porta-Potties are across the field and your 3 year old has to go ASAP? You thank God he's a boy and that he can go anywhere.

My little soccer fan. For a cranky busy toddler she was very well behaved.
