Dev Edwin is 3 years old as of March 15, 2008. Three is a big year. Getting pass 2 was a big step for him since Isa turned 8. All of the sudden birthdays were a big deal. He anxiously awaited 3. So, when 3 came he was ready. I tried to talk him into continuing with 2 and not turn 3. He wouldn't miss out on cake and presents just don't get older. He agreed with me until the day came. I forgot to say "no take backs" on our deal. So, my son is 3. We celebrated the festivities with our fam-the G6, Grandpa Eddie and Kendie. Who is like a sister to Dev-like he needs another one, right? I have made this sort of promise to myself that I wouldn't do Birthday parties for the kids until they were old enough to request one. I would rather spend the money and time doing something as a family that we wouldn't normally do. For more reasons than I count but the most important reason is because our time together is precious and why stress ourselves with a big bash when really they'd probably like a special day dedicated to them? So, that's my reasoning for not doing big birthdays. Until they are Isa's age and have to have a big (but still relatively small) bash. Back to the birthday story...we were waiting for our movie to start. Horton Hears a Who was his birthday request. We saw it downtown and played some video games while we waited. Or pretended to play video games anyway. Boys and their cars. Inseparable Duo.

Before dinner at Red Robin (also his request) on the Waterfront we went to the Pavilion to ride the Carousel. We were starving and walking by the Crab Pot on the way to the Carousel was making my tummy grumble. Dev wanted to ride Spencer (the monorail) but we didn't think about it until after we were in the garage and the thought of hiking it back down with all the kids as hungry as we were wasn't going to happen. Spencer was closed. So, we made up for it by going on the Carousel. Still lots of smiles.
I had a picture of us at Red Robin but Husband got me feeding Tiny Tot in the picture so I will have to crop myself out and re post later. He had a sundae (standard Red Robin Birthday complimentary) and we had mud pie as our birthday cake that was demolished in minutes. After we got home, we wanted to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Birthday boy started ripping his clothes off to put his
Night Night on and his PJs. Look at Tiny's do!
