Rain, Rain, Go Away...


Okay, so I didn't blog yesterday. Nothing exciting. A quiet day with laundry, cleaning and more laundry. The never ending laundry. I probably do 3 loads every day. No joke. The loads are medium sized but yes, 3 loads. Then studied. The dreaded finals are next week for me and I'm beat. I'm ready to start the holiday madness anything is better than papers and researching and more papers and more researching.

The really neat thing last night was my son. My son the Counter. We were getting done with dinner, (which he did not participate in, he's anti-any thing that is not chicken and we had beef last night) we cleared off the dining table. Dev sits down. Yeah, after dinner he sits down. Typical. He's sitting at Isa's placemat and starts to count. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. He got to 13 and I sat there with my mouth open. My 2 year old can count to 13. What?!!

This is him counting the little squares on the placemat. He's saying "Four...". Made our night! All of us we're clapping and jumping. It's the little things I tell you.

Mellow Sundays are just what I like. This morning Husband, Isa and I woke up to rain. I felt so bad, I should've drove Isa but Husband had already left at 6am and all the kiddies were still sleeping at 7am. I sent my poor daughter in the cold and wetness.

That is what it looked like out there...flooded. It rained and rained and rained. Normally I adore the rain but today it was too much. I needed some essentials so I was brave. No way was I going to sit in the rain and wait for Nana's bus today. I drove her to school. Most of the roads that lead to her school (or key roads for us to get around) were closed. So, we did some exploring today to get her to school. Since, I was dropping her off, I thought well might as well stop at Trader Joes and get some must-have-items out there in the nasty weather with Dev and Madi. So, we get to Trader Joes and we're instantly soaked. Dev insists that he doesn't have to wear his hood. His pirate hat (from Halloween) will cover him just fine. By the time we got into the store he was saying "Don't like this hat. I'm wet." Uh, duh! We leave Trader Joes and run errand to our Co-Op where I find out people's homes are flooded. I'm feel so bad. That is probably the absolute worst. The rain invading homes.
I vowed that when I got home I would make some soup for Isa, Nana and her friend, Kelci. On top of it all it was friggin' cold. They were nice and warmed up...now, it's homework time. Speaking of which I should help out Isa.


P.S. Today is Madi's 4 month old Birthday. Happy 4 Month, Tiny Tot!
