Jingle Tapping

I was going to blog last night but the couch got the better of me. Yesterday was the last day of Ballet and Tap (for 2007) and the last day of Fall Chess. The girls both had award/recitals that Dev and Tiny (ooh, yes and me!) had to see. Tuesdays are typically our "crazy" day. Nana gets off the bus, she immediately gets ready for Ballet and Tap, I drop her off run up the hill to pick up Isa from Chess and then run back down to pick up Nana from Ballet and Tap. Whew! It sounds exhausting but I'm home an hour before I have to serve dinner. So, it's a lot better than last year's Tuesday. Dev has been very patient this year and more interested in the girls' activities so it makes it easier. Tiny loves the hip and doesn't mind going in and out of the car to run the girls every where. Anyway, getting off track here. Soooo, we drop off Nana with her treats for the class. The class was asked to bring treats to celebrate this very special performance. I head up the hill for Isa's Chess Award Ceremony. Isa does Chess all year long but we have to sign up every quarter. The end of Fall quarter they decided to give T-shirts instead of medals. Medals tend to be pulled of her wall by a certain Mr. named "Fire Sam (Fireman Sam)". Fine by me and this quarter she earned a score pad and some fancy pencils for having high scores in Chess. Her ranking is getting better and better along with her math-so this is very exciting for all of us! Math is clicking as well as her Chess. She is making smarter moves. She used to be anxious just to move a piece instead of thinking it through now she takes longer and you can tell she's trying to calculate. After watching her ceremony and speaking with her Chess coaches we run back to the van to go down the hill to watch Nana's performance.

The Jingle Bell huddle before the performance. Did I mention her dance was to the Winnie the Pooh version of Jingle Bells?

They ran to a spot and popped out of this position to start their dance. They are supposed to be dressed in red and green. She chose this dress all by her self and found some bells for me to put in her hair and on her shoes. But, one broke off she said.

Here we go tap, tap!

Nana wants me to mention that she is doing Toe-Step-Toe-Step.

Ta-Da!

Then, it was time for treats! We brought bite size cupcakes because it was too close to dinner. But, she ended up going to her friend, Kelci's house to play with Natalie. So, I'm sure she managed to swing some goodies out of Kelci's Mommy. But, she was home in time for dinner and ate most of it anyway. All in all it was a crazy and exciting day. I left my camera in the car for Isa's Ceremony because I was distracted by the little man beside screaming about how I gave him the wrong snack. "No, I wanted Cherrios not Mighty Bites with my...with my fruit roll (fruit leather)!" I told him we didn't have time and we were going to miss Isa if we didn't hurry leaving my camera behind!!!! Err. She has a tournament in January. We'll get pictures then.
