Story Time

Our local library has a story time that is unlike any other story time I have been to. I go to the one closest to our house all the time but it is not nearly as interactive and creative as this story time. I was so impressed and can not wait to go back! Amber, Jillian's mom suggested this particular time and story time. I was planning on going to the one I've gone to for years but boy, am I glad she invited us to this one! Fun, fun!

I know, who's going to preschool me or her - right? Both of us, okay.

Madi wrote her name on a hand and Miss Sarah put it up on the board.

We were early. Between my drop off time for the big kids and story time I still have about 15 minutes so we will be sure to never be late that's for sure! She was nervous because it was a new experience and new place in her new "Mommy Preschool" week.

Miss Sarah introduces her felt board and an animal. Today, was a Beaver. She told a story using felt pieces about a leaves + trees and beavers + friendship. The kids were so intrigued by her story. She is a wonderful story teller. I was completely engaged with the kids!

She started off by an excerise wiggling their hands, legs and feet then moving into an opening song welcoming everyone. She would read one story then another song. They did the felt activity using her ABC felt bag and talking about letters. Then, go into another song. I modeled the songs for her...okay, who am I fooling? I loved dancing and singing along. You got me.

She read the Leaf Man and Gruff the Grump. Both stories appropiate for the first day of fall. I love fall.

It's preschool story time but lots of siblings and little ones. Miss Sarah is so patient. She has a true talent of keeping all of them involved in the story or songs.

Then, it was free play! Playdoh handmade by Miss Sarah.

Madi had the best time listening to the stories. Her favorite part of any day is listening to a story. Miss Sarah is very special and Madi is finally feeling like she is getting down this homeschool preschool routine.

What a fun morning they had together!
