I'm not the kind of Momma who wanted her son to play with guns, wrestle or play video games. I introduced my son to Thomas the Train vs Ninja Turtles and I encouraged hip hop dancing vs Karate or Taekwondo but...parenting has a way of teaching you things about yourself.
I married a man who grew up wearing camo clothing and playing army games in his Grandma's backyard and placed top 12 at (correction, thanks Uncle Dan!) State in wrestling when he was in high school. Go figure...the wonderful thing (or one of many) about my Husband that he keeps my neurotic self sane and reassuring me that boys can have Nerf guns and not turn out to be mass killers. Whew!
As you can probably guess, we have Nerf guns. We play video games. And, we have embarked on his life long dream - so he says - of Taekwondo.
His first time belting. Very exciting. I'm so proud of him! He beamed and was full of joy. That's what life is all about. Joy.

My Sister's learning all about this right now. I think there is a line, but Bryan's Mom sheltered him from it all and he went the opposite way. Well except for the psycho killer bit.
Such a boy! I love it! I know he was filled with pride when he got his belt. :)
