Summer Happenings

Despite a whole lotta nothing during the first week besides furiously cleaning - I mean furiously in the happiest sense. It felt good to clean out and reclaim our house back.

The kids didn't enjoy the cleaning part out as much (letting go is a bit hard for a certain someone ::ahem:: - Nana Banana). But, we got it done and it feels great! We can now enjoy SUMMER.

I promised this certain person, we'd have a sleepover. And, she's like an elephant...she never forgets. SO, we had Livi and Luc over from the L4 (our cousins) for some sleepover fun. Nana had Nat over too and they did the wild and crazy evil doll makeover. One of my favorite Nana activities - she comes up with some interesting ones that's for sure!

Gnomeo and Juliet and lights out by 11pm. As Nat's family was going on a hike and she had to be ready by 7am.

Saturday, Daddy had a soccer tournament so we watched game one then took Luc and Livi + my family (Gab, Tyler, my Mom and Brother + his kids) to watch Mr. Popper's Penguins. So good. ♥ that movie. Then, early dinner at the L4's followed by an early night after a sleepover for the G6.

Sunday was lazy. I had some grocery errands to run to prepare for an upcoming camping trip on a 4th of July weekend was bananas but done. We came home and the girls wanted to paint.

Nana painted her favorite, Lovey - Suki.

Daddy's home from his tournament! They lost 2 and won 1 so he was fairly early. Which was nice. G.E. came over to play with the kids and visit without soccer it seems like we never get to see him.

Isa painted. Inspired by summer she says.

A certain almost 4 year old worked on her invites to her birthday party.

I made Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf with some ripe bananas that I was trying to use instead of throw out from our crazy busy last week of school.

Barbeque Sauce for 4th of July seems like a must so I snagged this recipe. Much easier than the other one I love. No roasting tomatoes or pureeing...simple. Toss and simmer.

Ready for tonight.

What are your plans for the 4th? We have a whole lotta nothing planned. Some sparklers. Some dinner. Some s'mores. But, that's about it! Enjoy and Happy 4th!
