“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
- Martin Luther King Jr.
My favorite Martin Luther King Jr. quote...it was seems fitting considering this weekend's tragedy and life in general. Keep moving forward. That's one thing life can guarantee. The kids loved it and re-sang me their songs from the Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly all day today. I'm glad I can share a quote they easily related to and hopefully gave them a bit of comfort as we go into our first day school without our beloved PE Teacher.
Today, we had plans to relax. I woke up early...to catch up on some laundry and have Dev's friend, Kaden over.
Until last night at Kae's 21st birthday dinner...man, what a delicious homemade meal filled with bacon wrapped scallops, crab, lobster and steak. Yeah, I didn't even whip out the camera way too busy eating. Thank you Chefs Aunty Lori and Uncle Ronnie!
We were invited to
Dim Sum today for a continuation of Kae's birthday. Um, we don't say "no" to Dim Sum especially with our family. So, we went. Kaden came along for the ride. Daddy missed out...I'm pretty sure Nana ate his share anyway. We went to
Bamboo Village (I'd never been there but it was satisfying - I would go back...very clean too) for Dim Sum.
Bamboo Village is super duper close to the Woodland Park Zoo so we swung by to hang out at their indoor play area...the
Zoomazium to burn off our Dim Sum.
Side Note: Wanna know what cracks me up? These moms with their little kids looking around like "why is it so crowded?" DUH, you went on a no school day - everyone and their MOM is there. I was dying at the looks the moms had frantically trying to keep track of their kids. I can giggle because mine are getting big enough where they can partner up and be accountable. But, seriously?! Did they really think it wouldn't be jam packed? Because...that'd just be dumb. Hahhaa!
Madi's best friend. Yesterday, she named her - Ivory after Kae's dog but today she's Maggie again. Maggie just really needs her own label. I'm thinking "adventures with Maggie" because today she was toted around like she was Madi's baby. She is Madi's baby, what am I talking about? A little background, Grandpa Eddie took Madi for her very first Build A Bear visit last Friday and she built Maggie-son Kari G. She came equipped with a wardrobe, shoes, a mini Maggie, a sparkly blue collar and a bed.
Another Side Note: Madi sensed I was writing about Maggie because she just came out of bed crying for Maggie. Oh man, this could be a long night.
Well, she goes everywhere with Madi since she entered our family last Friday...and today she was left behind. Oh, man - Madi gave me the biggest crocodile tears ever. Her eyes filled up when I told her I thought we left her at JoAnn's (our last stop of the day). I called right away and thank goodness she was there (in front of the candy by the checkstand...can you tell Madi got side tracked? Dang you, Cinderella Pez dispenser!). Daddy rescued her on his way to play soccer tonight. THANK YOU, DADDY!!! She had to settle for Maggie's mini (who likes just like Maggie but teeny tiny) to sleep with tonight.
Anyway, back to our day...we left the zoo freezing from our short walk from the parking lot to the Zoomazium but we still had to visit our favorite friends, the penguins.

You get my mobile phone uploads because...I forgot an essential accessory. My camera.

A perfect way to end a fun day. Cupcakes! I was craving the Lavender Cupcake from Cupcake Royale (can you believe I went again, Nikki?!) + I had a coupon. So, we indulged and warmed up with some yummy treats.

I've never had Dim Sum before...and if it's just like going for tea (from the site) than I say lets do that next time =-)
Yum to those cupcakes!
Where are you getting all these coupons?! I'm super jealous!
Happy Birthday to Kaedra!
I think "adventures with Maggie-son" needs a back-up Maggie for when Maggie-son gets lost. Is there any credit left on that BAB gift card? haha
