Sarah and I have been friends since 5th Grade. Do you remember sitting with your girlfriends talking about marrying Jordan Knight from NKOTB and having all these babies living in a mansion?
What? You didn't do that? That's total normal tween behavior, isn't it? Well, Sarah and I always gabbed about things like that. We would bake together in HS all the time. Mainly because we didn't have jobs and the only way we could eat delicious pastries is if we made them. So, we made them. We made cinnamon rolls and cookies mainly, what else do teenagers eat anyway besides junk?
Anyway, when Isa was born I wanted to pass it on. When Isa was 1 we crashed Sarah's mom's kitchen and baked some delicious sugar cookies while listening to Christmas music. We've kept it up. Now that we have our own homes and tons of kids since then between the two of us we still love baking together.
Last year we decided to share the baking love and give them as gifts. Not that we are anything close Martha Stewart but we aspire.
Nana went over to the C6's house for Em's birthday party. We got to play with 1/2 of the C6 kiddies. I'm so bummed I don't have more pictures. Isa and her friend, Kaylin from the C6 helped make gingerbread houses and I thought I took pictures with my camera too but didn't! Kaylin and Isa were busy being such good baking helpers. Plus playing with Kaelee, Madison and Payton. They were such good helpers! Payton, Dev and Jesse played with the trains with some Lego friend pieces and were so goofy! I swore I took a picture with my camera but I must've been playing with Sarah's. Bad Mommy!

The kids cuddled up and watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer together for movie night after Pay and Kaylin left and we were cleaning up.
We made:
Martha Stewart's Peppermint Bark
Kaylin and Isa made sugar cookies and gingerbread stars. Thanks for coming over Ignacio Family and C6 girlies!

This was the hightlight of my weekend, we all had SO much fun! I'm so glad we are keeping our tradition going! I will send you the pictures tonight, you should have a few more shots you'd like but I still wish I would've taken more! I realized on my way home that both of us are not in the pictures, why don't we take any of ourselves--ever? Send me copies of your pics too when you get a chance, I'm trying to get a 2010 Family photo book done this year!
Thanks again for a fantastic evening!
Thanks so much for including my girlies in your tradition! They had so much fun and could not stop talking about how much you all did!
P.S. Dao is drooling over the Almond Joy's! Thank you so much for posting the link for the recipe!
