Oh man, I had this awesome photographer here take my pictures. Thanks, Isa-ma-Geesa!
We had plans to go here and go there...but family couldn't make here or family couldn't make it there so...The G side was split as it turned it out so was my family's side. We spent some time with the G side then headed to my Mom's for dinner two and some yummy desserts. We did miss most of my family...but the kids weren't complaining to have Grandma and Papa to themselves. Zero complaints.
You're asking for pictures...yeah, our friend - Aunty Tina - got a flat tire so we pretty much scrambled after I did a mad dash clean up job. My goal was not to come home to a mess - mission accomplished. I can't do everything sooooo the camera was left behind. I did pack pjs - blankies and loveys...I know, I coulda kicked me too.
My Mom makes my favorite mini pecan tarts...I was going to attempt them this year but that didn't happen so I was happy to gobble hers up. I can't believe I ate again. Who am I kidding? Yes, I can. I'm weak when it comes to indulging good food.
Since the week was covered in snow until Thanksgiving Day - Grandpa Eddie (who planned on spending the night anyway) slept over and helped prep all day. It made for a less stressful meal. 3 chefs in the kitchen meant I wasn't behind on anything else (ie laundry, picking up after the kids, etc). In my world...that equals less stress so thank you, Grandpa Eddie. Plus the kids were so excited to have him over. SO EXCITED. They want him over for Christmas Eve. They love having him all to themselves.
He made these yummy cheesy mashed tators with Isa. We collaborated the Turkey and Daddy + me made some yummy Italian Sausage Stuffing. I made Mac and Cheese (that I forgot to bring to my Mom's in the middle of our mad dash) - beer bread with Pan-Fried Onion Dip. Isa baked some sugar cookies. We made some Pumpkin Doughnut Muffins (FYI pay attention to TOTAL TIME vs Bake Time) - they would have been better if I didn't over bake them is what I'm getting at.
Grandpa Eddie brought some Cajun Chardonnay Oil to go along with bread that was a hit! Everyone loved it. It brought a little kick into your ordinary bread and oil/balsamic mix. And the most important thing Grandpa could ever bring into our house...at least to the big girls - Pumpkin Pie. Man, Costco makes a mean Pumpkin Pie - even I like it!
We got home at about 11pm from our visiting and eating. I attempted to go to Black Friday...yeah, didn't happen! Thanks, Denise for being my shopper that day! I was showered, dressed...then turned around and had to go back to bed.
Now...CHRISTMAS!
