Pumpkin Carving!

This week has been a little backwards. It was all half days (I miss half days!) because of conferences and we practiced on Thursday because Friday every school was having some sort of fun function for their students.

Between kids' soccer and Daddy's soccer we had to break up the pumpkin duties. Wednesday night we cleaned the pumpkins out and Thursday (last night) we carved. Or rather, Daddy and the kids carved. Nana had homework to do that she hadn't finished because she had a play date and didn't prioritize...well, really she just moves at her own Nana pace. Unfortunately that led to her not being able to do the carving. She picked her pumpkin stencil and cleaned it out the night before but....she didn't get to carve her own. It's hard to play bad cop. She took it well and hopefully learned that she has to prioritize and not slip away to Nana dreamland.

Daddy did her pumpkin for her. Thank you, Daddy! And, FOR THE FIRST TIME Isa carved her own pumpkin! Very exciting. Daddy guided her and she did a great job!

This is such a special time for Daddy with the kids. I really let him have this be (not that I let him but he holds the reigns on this project, you know what I mean - from clean up to set up) "his" thing. He went with the kids to pick them out, cleaned them and carved. The kids love the Daddy Time that comes with pumpkin carving.

Isa's is the dragon, Dev's is Batman (the symbol), Madi's is Marie from Aristocats and Nana's is the skull.
Happy ALMOST Halloween!
