Kindergarten Rewards

It's quite possible that I like positive reinforcement. No, I love it. I made a promise to my Kindergartener. I told him "you work really hard your first week and we can go somewhere special". I haven't been as active with the kids this summer as I usually am. We were a bit lazy.

So, of course my mini dictator was all ears on this deal. He requested Lunchables (a definite special junk treat) and to take Pay the Children's Museum. Done.

Isa and Nana had similar treats. It's just a huge milestone. Isa had Daddy take her to the park by our house for some special time after he picked her up. Nana had her friend, Kelci over for a play date with her favorite treats. Moments I'm glad we shared with them.

Pay was super excited to join in Dev's reward. I told her "you get rewarded too, you did awesome your first week!" We did the usual at the museum. Art. Camping/"Jungle" area. Visited different countries. Then, ::ahem:: the BALL EXHIBIT WAS OPEN! I don't even know how long it was closed for but I swear at least one thing was broken every time I've gone. Today was no exception but at least it was open and the cool stuff was working.

My engineer went hard at work building. The girls just liked collecting balls in their baskets and pushing all the buttons to hear funny sounds.

The lil' gadget that Pay is at has never worked. IT DID TODAY! We got to hear the trumpet, see the vortex - it did it all! Dev was fascinated by the Gravity part of this exhibit. My lil' mad scientist.

We headed home but they loved these pillars. How long have they been there? For forever, right? Well, it's the star attraction today. They were weaving in and out hiding behind jumping out to "scare" me. Those cute kids are frightening, you know. Just scary. We people watched at the EMP - something is going down...I went to the site and didn't see anything but they had all kinds of padded suit guys in full on dress up gear down there. Dev was entralled with their outfits saying he wanted one. I wanted to take a picture but I was driving and didn't want to seem creepy...like they looked. It made for interesting conversation on the ride home.

Better than the poo they insisted on analyzing on the ride to the museum. <---we saw poo on a sidewalk outside as I was running an errand before we went to the museum and it was topic of convo for what seemed like too long. "What kind of animal poo was it?" "Who would leave poo?" "Maybe it was a giant rat." "Did Madi do it?"

Hope you had fun, Lovey.

I love these pics! Thank you so much for taking her! She had so much fun! I can't believe your kiddos did so much wonderful art, and she spends the entire time on one painting!?! Silly girl!
