Soccer Season has arrived. Yet again.
Our new schedule is:
- Monday + Friday back to back practices with the Purple Flames (Nana's team) and Tsunami (Isa's team) teams
- Husband's old man league with some team I have no idea about - Outdoor Far Post Team on Monday nights
- Husband's Indoor Farrago Team on Wednesdays nights
- Practices/Games for U6 on Saturdays
- Purple Flames Games on Saturday
- Husband's Vietnam United Team on Saturdays
- Tsunami Games Sunday
Are you tired? Me tooooo. But, it's a fun ride. I love watching all of them. Just wait until we throw Diva into the mix - boy oh boy! We tested our abilities to handle Super Soccer Saturday with play dates in the mix.
Purple Flames play with 9 on the field this year. This is completely new. This other team played up last year so they know how this works. Our poor girls were confused. It's one of those things you can go over and over in practice but until you are actually in the game it's hard to grasp. It was a brutal lost. I stopped counting after 7 goals and I think there was a few more after that. One thing they had was heart. They kept their spirits up and kept going even if they had NOT ONE GOAL. It'll take a bit to catch on but they'll get there!
Good work, Flames!
Dev was playing with his buddy, Liam. They don't see each other often but they share a love of Star Wars. They were speaking Ewokese. Yes, folks there is such a language. I thought it was the cutest thing I'd heard all day. So, I had to record it.

It was a short play date as both of them had to get ready for their soccer practice but they enjoyed their Lego and Star Wars time together.
After Dev's practice it was a 30 minute gather time until we headed out for Husband's first game with Vietnam United. He's played in a few tournaments with these guys but they have officially asked him to be a part of this team. They too had a brutal loss 0-10. BUT, they are playing 1A and the team they played against just stepped down from Premier. Either way, Husband was a little down about double losses in one day.
My only complaint was they said the game was at 6:30pm...it started at 7:30pm. I should've just left to get dinner but it looked like they were going to start and...dinner was eaten at 9:15pm. They had snacks so they weren't starving but still - long day and long night.
We had spectators. Mia, Nana's friend was with us already and was excited to watch "big" boys play. Camie and Dev's best bud, Tyler were coming home from Seattle and stopped by to watch the game as did my parents + Grandma and Tyler and Gabby. Husband was happy to see them in support of him but a lil' embarassed at the huge loss.
Glorious Sunday! We had a lazy morning as Isa's game was rescheduled for 3pm. Isa was so excited that her Grandpa Eddie, Papa, (aunt) Gabby and (uncle) Tyler + her Great Grandma was there to cheer her on!
They tied. Whew - another loss would not end the weekend well. Tsunami kicked butt with a 3 point lead then lost it! They did really well as a new team!
Good work, Tsunami!

I love how the girls plopped down and it was straight to guzzling water! The boys played Star Wars + Batman...can you tell who has potential for dictating? The smallest one facilitating their fighting matches against the Joker and Droids.
'Til Next Weekend!
