- wrapped pork/shrimp [and whatever else secret ingredient Aunt Lori adds]
- place in pool of chicken broth and ENJOY.
I got the pleasure of spending the afternoon with the Wong ladies making Won Ton. Husband's Aunt [Grandpa Eddie's sister] is married to a Chinese man. Kae [who spends oodles and oodles of time with our kids] is her daughter, she is now pregnant! Very exciting first grandchild for them and the first cousin not to come from us to enter the G Family. Even more exciting for us! We are so excited for her!
You're curious about the title - Aunt Lori told me a story about her MIL - she said that her MIL hated when people said "let's eat Chinese." I suppose you can not really eat a Chinese but eat Chinese Food. I thought that was a pretty neat and relevant story so I thought I'd share. :)
We talked a bunch today in lieu of Kae's pregnancy about parenting, marriage, kids [mainly the funny/inappropriate things Dev's come up with these days, the mature conversations Isa can hold, the kindred spirit of Nana and the lack of speaking on Madi's part] and life. I don't think I've ever had that opportunity to hang with GG, Aunt Lori and Kae like that. It was TONS of fun.
It was neat to pass on parenting "wisdom" - if that's what you call it - to Kae. My biggest advice was never say "never", soak in every moment with your kids and laugh [a lot] - relish in the JOY of parenting. It will always be hard work...but team work makes the dream work. Corny saying but ever so true.
Anyway, it was 3.5 hours away from my little family and quality time with them. I had fun and snuggled up with my kids watching movies on a rainy Saturday. Daddy was punching out his "to-do" list he's made for himself. Such a great daddy! I know he feels good getting things done and we are appreciative for it!
Thanks, Aunt Lori and Kae [and GG] for having me! I had a wonderful time with you all! You made dinner easy for me tonight!
