I've totally been cheating on my book club and my recreational reading "hobby" because I'm a game addict. That's right, I love to play the Wii. Preferably with my kids...but really? I just love to play. We got a ton of fun games for Christmas and Isa's Birthday so...I'm a gaming machine.
BUT that doesn't mean I don't love to read...I'm getting back on the wagon. Promise. I've been kinda blah lately with books. I can't get into them or they just aren't a good fit for me. My range of choices has been wide over the past year. But, I think my true love is historical fiction. I read some super deep depressing historical fiction and then read Twilight...well, then I was hooked to happy reading where everyone lives happily ever after.
But, I think I'm wanting a happy medium. Denise let me borrow the Red Tent so I want to start reading that after I read my book club book. I was part of the Benner Book Club but...I don't know what happened. I haven't been on Twitter as much with the holidays, Isa's Birthday, the play's Silent Auction (yes, I'm chairing it) and Chess Club...I'm kinda wiped and have loved battling my Husband and kids in video games. You know, family bonding. :)
Everyone has been talking about these Readers. And, I kept saying I like the feel of the book. I like the feel of the book - tis true BUT I would love the 9.7 Kindle. Not saying I'm getting one but they are starting become more appealing to me...I know it's big. But I think that's why I love it...I have big purses so I can transport big and now that I don't carry diapers with me, I can replace it with the 9.7 Kindle...IF you have would mind giving me your reviews? Thanks.
You like to browse shoes and purses...I like to browse Amazon.com for books and Kindles. Ain't no thang! :)

I choose books over shoes and purses too :) I read the entire Twilight series via the Kindle reader on my iPhone. I was skeptical, but I had no problem reading on the screen. I really wanted a kindle until Apple's iPad announcement. Now I want an iPad so I can read books AND keep all of my own notes/writing on one device. (Can't afford one any time soon, but it'll be fun to play with) :)
I am slowly considering the kindle, too. Not that I will be getting one anytime soon. When they first came out, I was just like you "I need to feel the book in my hand", but I love the convenience of it!
My SIL has one and loves it. The only problem is now I can't borrow her books when she is finished!
My husband had the first Sony E-Reader. Then he upgraded and got the Sony E-Reader New York Times Edition. He LOVES it. It is sleek, and lovely, and there are NO ugly buttons visible. Sorry. I hate the buttons. The Sony E Reader is a touch screen. Love! ;) I still like my books, but if I ever get an E-Reader it'll be a Sony, I am sure. I haven't been reading much lately either. I want to so bad, but I am so so so so busy!
xoxo
I have a Kindle and I love it. :) I have the 6" one and I don't have a single problem with it. Love reading on it. LOVE IT!
wow, everyone! thanks for the feedback...sounds like we all adjust to technology well. :)
now i will pine for one - do you think amazon will give me one for free since i sorta advertised on my blog?? HA!
Im right there with you Sheree, I just love the feel, smell and everything there is about a book...though I always look at the Kindle and the sony version...I can't seem to give in. Sigh, if I bought one then who else would buy out half priced books? (=
