Play Time!

There are two local (well, semi-local; they're 20 minute drives on the freeway) in our area. Every year we buy a membership to either one (Aunty Tina and Uncle Enrique get us our memberships - thank YOU!!) + our zoo membership - this year we chose the Seattle Children's Museum.

I actually love this one. There isn't a Children's Museum I hate but this one gives us an opportunity to hang out in Seattle while we are here. I love playing at the exploding water fountain on sunny days in front of the Key Arena and sneaking into the Bite of Seattle when no one has gotten there yet. That kinda stuff makes it fun!

Daddy has been with us the past couple days. We've had some issues with Husband's car so he's been home trouble shooting that with his Dad (who is a 45 minute drive away and came out last night after work - thanks, G.E. for helping us!!). Husband was trying to go to work yesterday but we left before him due to Isa's 8:10am choir class/club so after I dropped Nana off at 9am the kids and I ran to the docs for me then decided to play or rather I decided to make them play...Daddy called me half through the exhibits to say he was "trying" to make it home. Boo and YAY all in the same breath.

Oh, man you shoulda heard him whine about coming. "I don't wanna go! I don't like this one!" I told him if he had the worst time I would ask for my membership back and go get one at the other Museum. Well...look who LOVED it?!

If it means fun she's game no matter where it is...she loves to paint. Both kids were in here for a good 35 minutes painting and creating.

Denise and Pay let us borrow their I Can Read Books and one is about a Tornado. Him and Nana read it together and now...his obsession with tornadoes has been endless. Yes, we told him we don't get them here...Nana informed him we get earthquakes instead. Surprisingly, he was okay with that knowledge.
Our budding artists...

CLAY. He took one project home like a good artist. He was here forever creating things.

I kinda want to build one of these out in the grass this summer. Couldn't you see it? It'd be fun to paint and see the person in front of you painting too. PLUS the mess is OUTSIDE. Hmmm, Daddy - will you work on that project? :) Looks fairly simple...add it to the list, honey!

Their featured exhibit? TINKERTOYS. Tinkertoys rock. We don't own any but Grandma Kim does and the kids love them. I have thought about getting them but why not let them look forward to doing something else where, eh?

CREATE.

PROCESS.

They had all steps to the engineering process. The kids loved it! Highly recommend it.

I said "NO beans but rice, Madi!" What does she do? She gives me double beans. Bleh. At least my taco was good. I sat here pretending to eat and not like beans before I knew it tons of tiny tots were bringing me beans to see my reaction!

Who says girls can't fight fire?

On a side note - I have loved having Daddy here yesterday and today. He made it home safely and we ran some fun Mommy errands with us. Today, he waited for the part to come in and is installing it now. We love having him home but our bank account probably doesn't. :) Bittersweet. Now...to go play with Dev while the sun is peeking out and Madi's napping!

I've been looking for a place to take Jackson when I babysit him. But every place seems to close before 5pm. Looks like fun!

Looks fun! I need to take the girls to a Children's Museum. We have never been!
