Big realizations
- Madi is potty trained. This is the first time that I have not been pregnant while potty training and essentially the first time not pregnant in 10 years.
- YEP, my 9 year old turns 10 this year (in 19 days to be exact)! Husband and I keep telling her that her birthday is cancelled and she has to stay 9. She keeps telling us "it ain't happenin'!" Why do they have to get bigger and older?
- She received as a special gift from Mommy, Twilight. I don't think I have to link that you should know by now what that is. C'mon now! She finished her last Chronicles of Narnia book and begged to move on to Twilight. Now, please don't misunderstand...she is only reading Twilight - I think the rest of the series is a bit above her emotional capacity. Not saying that Twilight is filled with mature emotions but if you have read the series you know it may not be totally appropriate for a 10 year old. Twilight has an ending and it's happy. She can read the rest later....much later.
- Right before break, I registered Dev for Kindergarten...don't get me all weepy. He is SO excited (surprisingly) to go! This year we are homeschooling him and he's met one of the Kindergarten teachers Mr. Kelley and thinks he's "rad". I registered him for half day because it fills up first; we can decided later to enroll him in full day as there are 2 classes for full day. Ms. Rust is the half day teacher and her twin sister taught Nana at our old school. The Rust Sisters are pretty well known in our community. They teach swim and ski lessons to lots of kids in our area. So, he'd be happy with her either teacher - if he was in full day I would cross and double cross for Mr. Kelley. He is AWESOME. Isa helps him in his class during recess. Nana harasses him all day as her class is across from his - he loves it!
- Nana LOVES to read. Her and I spent the day together yesterday and I asked her "what are you most excited about this semester?" And, she said "our summaries for reading. I'm reading a really cool book!" For reals? It took Isa until 3rd Grade to love reading (or at least like it) - after reading the Indian in the Cupboard - she found her reading niche Fantasy Fiction. BUT, Nana is pretty aware of what she loves to read - it usually includes a mystery or a princess. And, she is a hard cover snob! I find that amusing because I love me some hard cover books too!
Speaking of Nana...her's our special day!
My Aunt sells handmade bags - I am sure I've ranted and raved about them numerous times on here. I work for her when she needs me. This weekend she had some unexpected out of country guests + her kids who are all grown came in for the holidays so it she asked if I could work. I was happy too. Isa was at Izzie's for a sleepover so Nana asked if she could come with me. I didn't think she could hang all day with me - she usually likes her down time with a movie and her blankie but YAY! Nana and Mommy Day!

Your such a good Mommy to make sure to have one on one time with each kid!
I can't wait to talk to Isa about Twilight! I know she is super excited!
You buy a twilight doll for your kid= not weird. I buy one...well let's just say I haven't gone there yet ;) Definitely agree on the one on one thing. Very important and you are awesome at it.
Let's see if Isa can stop at just one ;)
