Thankful for Family (and Thanksgiving)

Okay, I am the worst sick person ever. I annoy all those who love me because I don't do sick well. I never rest. I always try to do things before I'm fully better. I am a lamesauce patient. I never learn either. Vertigo is even more lame. The whole rollercoaster ride twirly effect is definitely one of the most horrendous experiences of my short life.

I stumbled downstairs late Thanksgiving after being in bed since Tuesday that week just in time to see Grandpa Eddie washing dishes. Good timing, right? Husband cooked. Grandpa Eddie was sous chef/dishwasher/assistant nanny for the day. It helped Husband's sanity I'm sure. On top of me getting sick...he had to pull Thanksgiving together because our plans of leaving the house and me cooking a few dishes obviously weren't happening. But, the men prevailed. They are awesome, truly. I had a 3 hour stint where I was sitting in bed feeling okay and had a plate (or two small ones...whatever). But of course, no pictures. I didn't have the heart to ask them to document their very intense cooking session. So, in lieu of all of this...I am thankful for those men, Husband and Grandpa Eddie. You guys pulled it together and gave the kids a Thanksgiving to remember. Thank you.

Friday, I went to the doctor and got some anti-nausea meds with some drain-the-inner-ear meds so the vertigo would subside after the inner ear infection passed. I was just happy to walk and only get sick twice in the car. At the doc's office they tried taking my blood pressure laying down...until I screamed to sit me up. I felt so bad for the nurse, she called in a back up because she hadn't seen any one with such a horrible case of vertigo. Some people could lie down and keep their eyes closed - I was the opposite. Eyes open and 90 degree angle - that was my happy place. :)

Saturday, I felt much better. The C6 had taken our big girls for a sleepover that Saturday night and my spinning ceased until that evening so it nice for the girls to get out with the C6 to play during their 4 day weekend.

Sunday, Uncle J called to see if Husband wanted to kick around the ball because their outdoor league ended 2 weeks ago and their indoor league starts Wednesday (tomorrow). So, they rallied Dao from the C6 and all 8 of our kids (4 of ours and 4 C6ers) to have a soccer session. I wanted fresh air and Dev had a croupy cough that needed some fresh air so we went.

See? Bad patient. I should not have been out but I can not sit home...for long. I know, I drive all those who love me nuts because I need to be out or I start doing stuff around the house - it's the lesser of two evils for me to be out rather than trying to re-organize my cabinets or something. :) So, Husband let me out. We went to the local highschool and played on their turf field. Or rather, the boys did with the girls while Dev and I hung out along the side.

Pumping the balls for 8 kids. Madi adores her Daddy and gets into the yelling spirit of soccer now! We love it.

My croupy sick boy. No fever at the time...just an ugly cough.

Nana waiting for her drills to start.

Can I eat her? Pay the C6's youngest. She was a soccer star that day. She made 3 goals during drill time and participated the whole time.

Coach Daddy Dao tying shoes (shoe tying never ends when you're a soccer coach). Haley's team (the C6's oldest) rocked it in the Turkey Shoot the weekend before - I didn't get a chance to see her games this season. I vow to see them in spring - she did great this season and I want to see her play! See Kay on the right side? She is a Gymnast turned soccer player. SHE ROCKS! She got into it and it totally sparked Husband and her Daddy, Dao! Another soccer player is born!

Of course, these girls can't resist babying Miss Madi. No wonder Madi is such a Diva!

Denise packed us snacks. UM, these bring back happy happy childhood memories of my Grandpa T. bringing them home and me chowing down on them! So, of course I chowed down on reject fortune cookies!! YUM.

Best Friends for Life.
Em and Nana. Wish they could be on the same team. :(

The boys were so serious about their practice. I think it's cute. It was a great Sunday for them to get out and for the kids to get out with them. Good work, Coach J - Coach Dao and Coach Daddy! I am thankful to have each of you in our soccer children's lives!

**Still dizzy but I can sense an episode coming on so I can moderate myself. Thanks for the well wishes!**

That sounds awful. Glad you were able to keep a little food down and enjoy the weekend a bit. Welcome back!

Thanks so much for taking pictures of the soccer day. I was lame and didn't take any of their makeover/slumber party. I have been feeling like poo, but nothing compared to the vertigo you have! Most people go to the ER when it gets that bad! You are one tough lady!
