Thankful Thursday

I felt complainy yesterday - I always feel guilty when I am overly whiny - it was a rough day. Which is generally okay to do but I tend to ramble and lose sight of what is most important. Being a Mommy and every fabulous detail that goes along with it - it's most definitely a job I do not take for granted. I'm super fortunate to be home with the most valuable people in our lives.

Okay, so what I'm thankful for?

I'm thankful for play dates that keep my kids happy, social and able to build relationships/friendships.

I think these skills are key. I plan lots of play dates for all of our kids for this purpose. Building relationships that will last a lifetime. The experts say after the age of 10 your friends your friends with currently end up being your friends for life (can't remember exact statistic but it's over 80%). We plan on staying in our community and school so these friendships are valuable to us (and them). It helps with their problem solving and it gives them motivation to use these just not in play dates but with their siblings. Because if you can't respect your family - you can't have friends over. That usually snaps any bad attitudes right out. :)

We are surrounded by the most caring and fun-loving families around so it's easy to plan the good times. We just let 'em roll.

Dev had Ian (Nana's bud, Zo's brother) over for some play time on this incredibly rainy day. We museumin' it up at Imagine Museum in Everett. PS Burke Museum and SAM are free every 1st Thursday of the month. Burke has an awesome Antarctica exhibit right now (think penguins and you can't go wrong). Sidetracked again...okay so we hung out there for a couple hours. Came home and behold...

The Batcave. It's Batman VS Star Wars (meaning Anakin) and most definitely Dev is making sure Star Wars win. This is super fun for him considering most of the time his lairs are Dora houses/castles or doll houses. He was LOVIN' the boy factor with Ian's Batcave. Don't worry, Santa is takin' notes!
