First Day of School!!

The day came...summer is over. The girls were so excited for this day. They could barely sleep. They were so giddy to have their first day at their new school!! I on the other hand could not sleep but I wasn't excited I was anxious.

We were ready at 8:15am but I sorta putzed around thinking we were done so early I might as well do some other things. Then, time slipped away and I was rushing them in the car to head to school. We arrived. The parking lot is nuts! 700+ students will do that. They let us park on the field and we swiftly walked towards their classes.

I can't believe how big they are both getting!!

Isa's building is first so we dropped her off first and we saw Izzie!! Isa was so happy to see her! They have different main teachers Kim and M split the class in half and Isa has Kim as a "main" teacher. Isa has 4th, 5th and 6th graders in her class. I love how they call them by their first names, it's so personal here and the teachers really create a sense of family within their classrooms. Isa totally felt right at home.

Nana was all ready to go. Her teachers, Nancy and Sue met her at the door and were completely welcoming to Nana. She had no fear in me leaving so I stood around for a minute and watched...then left. I told her I was going and she was like "okay!" then I said "can I have a one more hug?" and she beamed then gave me one.

First day was a success. Dev even got a play date with just Pay that morning well into the afternoon. Denise brought him home after she dropped her daughter, Haley off at soccer around 5pm so it was a big day for all of them. The day went so well. I was able to take the girls out for some Costco icecream after their first big day and then get home so Nana could go to soccer. I'm so proud of the girls for adapting to this change with excitement!
