It was the kind of Saturday in Summer we truly hadn't had yet (sad, I know) mainly because the girls (or we) were gone camping, prepping to move or on the move. Yesterday was not like that. It was a quiet Friday evening with
Movie Night with Nat (she didn't sleep over but she stayed for the fun stuff). Saturday morning was just mellow. We didn't have plans in the morning so I made pannicakes with strawberries enjoyed my morning latte with the kids then we set out to do yard work while Daddy worked on the garage. His never ending project since we moved - he is pretty on top of the garage stuff so it's the bane of his existence currently.
So, Isa and I worked diligently in the yard and Nana helped Daddy...it was a productive morning until the lunch. After lunch, we (meaning me and kids) decided we were done with that and that we would finish up some stuff inside while Daddy plugged away in the garage.

Isa and Nana enjoying their pannicakes with strawberries.

Dev enjoying his pannicakes sans strawberries (the boy has serious issues with food that has seeds - if it has seeds he doesn't eat it).

Madi watching Dora in the playroom after breakfast. She insists on sneaking up to the TV this close whenever I leave the room. I check on her and have to move her away. Since it's an interactive show she feels the need to point directly on the television instead of at it.
Later that evening at 5pm, we went to Chez Livi's to celebrate her 4th Birthday!! Wa Hoo!! I know she's long awaited this day so I was especially happy for her. She played and was clearly having the time of her life.

This is the cute invite her parents sent us sans the necessary info to come. I thought it was a very creative idea. The kids had fun especially, Kay and Isa getting orders for the kids and adults. It looked a bit stressful having 4 kids take orders and only 3 cooks but they did great and everyone was fed. :) She did several different kinds of wraps and tacos with all kinds of creative mix-ins. They made chef hats but only 2 out of our 4 did so they were too busy playing.

Oh wait...this is what they do - wrestle. Dao, Pay and Dev - it looks like Dev is ready to take an Edward bit out of Dao but I hope he really doesn't...sometimes Dev takes playing a little too seriously. :)
On to the yummy food...

The spread of mix-ins.

Madi enjoying her quesdilla with sourcream and onion chips - her diet is always minus the good for you stuff these days. I'm hoping that will change
soon. Trying to fight less and make it in her digestive system in sneaky ways - through breads and yogurts.

Isa with her waitress clipboard and with Sweet Great Grandma.
Couldn't tell you where my other 2 were...I'm guessing playing in the L4's playroom or outside playing soccer with their Daddy and Dao. Daddy and Dao played soccer with the neighborhood boys and after they left Denise, me, Isa, Haley, Livi, Pay and Kay played against Daddy, Dao, Luc, Dev and the only neighbor boy left. I think the daddies cheated but it was fun to play with the kids and I think they appreciated the mommies getting out there and playing with them. Happy Saturday...now onto Sunday! I hear the lawn being mowed...and lattes being made time to cuddle up with Madi and read the
Time Traveler's Wife (thanks, Denise!).

The kids had so much fun at Livi's bday!
I even enjoyed getting out there and playing a bit of soccer. To bad I kicked the ball right into your husbands face! Sorry David!!
That sounds like a fun party! Cute little chef hats too.
The Time Travelers wife...sigh. I can't wait for the movie this Friday!
