When Listening to Your Mother is Beneficial

Well, I would say it's always always always beneficial - okay, girls (Isa and Nana)? But, we have a semi-strict rule about candy. 1) don't hide it in your room 2) tell Mommy about it and she'll stash it for you - mainly because exhibit A (see below) will happen.

I should back up, Isa and Nana left Friday morning to meet their Grandpa Wade and go to the lake with them in Longview where they have a fifth wheel trailer to camp in. So, I had the two little ones with me. Madi had a play date with Kaysea and Dev ran some errands with me.

When I got home Dev brought down some candy that was stashed in Nana's room. She claims it was in Isa's but anyway, he asked if he could have them. It was 2 airheads that he called candy bars because he's never had/seen an airhead. I told him later which I think he knows means maybe tonight - maybe tomorrow - maybe never. He took it upon himself to eat it + 2 Starburst and 2 tootsie rolls from my Chess Club reward candy which he knows he's not supposed to be in to!!

Soon after, he says "my tummy hurts". I told him to go potty the rest is down hill. Lots of moaning and groaning...he throws up. Not once. Not twice. Thrice. It was as I say misgusting.
He slept for (what felt like a milli-second). He was totally fine after getting it all out. He watched some Star Wars and a couple hours later he had a picnic with Madi on the couch feeling completely better!! Yay!!!

Madi being impatient for her muffin in the pitcher?!

Dev being the regulator he is - explaining that if she tries to eat everything "you'll get a tummy ache Madi and barf like me". The almost 2 year old could care less...she wanted to help control the picnic (is that even possible?) with him.

Loves for brother.

Who is this crazy baby who thinks she can dish her own dinner?? She thought it was funny that she could reach it and dish it herself while yelling "yeah!" - not cool, baby!!

We had rough first half of the evening but it was all better and we read stories (their pick - which usually the little ones just go with what ever the big girls pick but last night it was their choice, we read about dinosaurs and trucks) then lights out. My girlies called to say goodnight and I interrogated them a bit about the candy but let it go because I missed them too much to give them guilt trips about stashing candy in their rooms.

Today...we have a birthday party and hopefully see our Aunty Mari....just maybe we might go out for anniversary (thanks, C6!!). More to come...

Poor Dev! What is it with kids and candy?
If he had the chance, I am sure he would do it all the same. They can't resist it!
P.S. Madi looks so dang cute in that nightgown!
