Monday, we went to Alki Beach in West Seattle. It said that it was going to be 81 degrees...SIKE! It was freezing and the wind was blowing every where. The big girls didn't wear their suits but Dev and Madi did. Madi uses any excuse to wear a bathing suit. Dev and Nana went rock hunting for their rock collection. Isa and O went to look for skipping rocks and skipped rocks + find weird yucky stuff on the beach. Darb, Madi and I sat on a ledge and talked/chase Madi around.
The tide kicked us off the beach after 2 hours so we opted to head back to the car and go to a park by our house. There we felt the heat. It was hot but we spent another couple hours there and then headed home. I made some BBQ chicken and we all just chillaxed. The kids played Wii until bedtime.
Tuesday, we went to Silver Lake with the C6 (minus the daddies + Darb and O). It was friggin' hot that day. But, we left at 1pmish during the heat of the day so the kids stayed cool. Can't say the same for the Mommies!! We stayed until about 5:45pm and then headed home. It was also Husband and I's Anniversary (yay, US!) so I stopped to get some pizza to throw in the oven (by then it was only 78 degrees in my house) with some icecream to cap off our hot day. We each had a Honeymoon Summer Ale by Blue Moon - most delicious, highly recommend it.
I got Husband his favorite icecream and he got me 1lb of Belgium chocolate from Trader Joe's. He loves me! Just what I needed after a grueling day at the beach. :D He is the bestest and I love every day we are together!
Wednesday we went to the free movies with the C6. I took the big kids (Darb, O, Isa and Haley) to go see Spiderwick. Darb and O had never seen it and it was $1 for them to go see it BUT the movie messed up and was unwatchable after only 40 minutes!! So, they hung at the mall while Denise and I finished the Bee Movie with the little ones. We chilled at the C6's house for a bit then came home to be lazy before their Momma arrived to pick them up.
It was a busy and fun time with them. Today, we are seriously chillaxin'. Nana's at Nat's house and I'm preppin' the big girls for their camping trip with their Grandpa Wade and Grandma Kim. I will miss them (I hate to be a Momma without her little chickies) but know they'll have a blast with their cousin, Kyra + the grandparents.
