Today we met Little Tyler and Ella at the Seattle Children's Museum this AM. Little Tyler and Ella are my girlfriend's little kiddies. They are the same ages as Dev and Madi. Tyler and Dev are 4 months apart and Ella and Madi are too. My kids are older but they are our favorite playmates. I'm so glad we met this AM because we didn't realize we planned our special day around...The Bite. Dev's first summer was the last time I went and I promised I would never do that to myself again. But, you know? It wasn't half bad. We got to the Museum at 10am and let them play until 11:30am and then we went to the Bite for a bit and was in the car driving home by 12:15pm. The Bite just started getting folks rollin' in. So, I can't complain. I really wish I would have remembered the camera though. :( I'm so bummed. I even told myself last night to put it in the car and then I got distracted...shocker, right?
The kids have a ritual when we're there. We do ART first (so it'll be dry when we leave), go to the ball thingy and then to the Tree area. We pause for potty and then go to the ethnic area where there's the little Japanese house. It's so darling and the kids all take off their shoes. I do the Metro, Dunn Lumber and grocery area last. Well, because it's their favorite and I have a hard time getting them out. Dev went for his special 2 birthday and slapped the featured guest, Bob the Builder. We've been twice since and this time he really used the imaginative play and got in to character versus just wearing the fireman hat and driving he was telling me what street the fire was on. It was on 23rd and Crawford (that is what his fire truck at home says). Isa and Nana played in the Theatre and pretended they were on Camp Rock. Lots of bellowing of "this is me, who I am, there's no way to hold it in..." in the Theatre. Madi played and played. It was her first time there as a guest. She was wobbling around and picking up toys and getting all excited. Then the Summer Camps (which equals lots of kids running around knocking my little ones down-not that they are trying to it just happens) came and we bailed. Anyway, it was fun fun. Now, naptime....does that mean me too?
