Six Flags

Here we go, we traveled about 2.5 hours to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA. The kids couldn't wait to ride the rides with their cousins. Our Aunt and Uncle (from the L4) were excited to ride rides...apparently with me. Uh, I don't ride rides. I hate rides. I can't even force myself to without shaking and feeling like my stomach is going to explode out of my body. I am too much of a control freak to let loose enough on a ride. And, I was not mentally prepared to do so this trip.

I know, every party has a pooper. That was me.

Group Shot. They were thrilled. Okay, not really - they wanted to get the show on the road and I wanted to preserve memories. Go figure.

Can you find me? I'm next to Nana with my head bent down. Somehow I was convinced to go on this ride. It was climbing and I was screaming and sick. I screeched so loud thinking we were going down...and we were turning the corner to go down. Everyone was cracking up. I had no idea, I thought I was plummeting down.

Then, you get sprayed again after coming down the water fall. You pay $0.25 to drench the group of rafters. I have to say...I like that end of the deal.

I survived. Everyone is turning around at me still laughing at my shrill experience.

Um...good thing we did this first. We were drenched. Drenched. It took all day to dry out. Daddy had to leave his shoes on the window sill at the hotel to dry out...that's how drenched we were. 11 hours of driving and ride riding didn't dry out his shoes! Crazy!!

Ah, this is what I call fun. I wanted to watch more shows and learn with the kids about the dolphins, walruses and other fun animals/mammals at Discovery Kingdom but alas everyone spent 8 hours riding rides. Fine. I still learned. I actually didn't know that whales and dolphins could communicate, did you?

The kids had swimsuits. We were the only ones who brought them because I knew there was a water area for the little kids. They were so patient while we let the biggest kids ride. Madi asked me "they don't have kid rollercoasters, Momma?" After my scary raft ride, I dedicated my time with her, Jaydes, Nana, Jun and Livi so they could ride in the Looney Tunes loop while the big kids rode rides until they could ride no more.

I rode Madi's first rollercoaster ride with her. She leaned over to me to comfort me:

Madi: "Momma, Daddy said you have to put your head up on rollercoasters."

Me: "Madi, I know but if I do I might get sick."

Madi: "You gonna throw up? Want me to rub your back?"

Dang...my 4 year old comforting me? I decided to be brave for her but man, I think I have whiplash from that kiddie coaster. That thing was brutal on my neck the operator had no mercy on halting. I was begging for a smoother stop to no avail.

We met up briefly again with the riders and I wanted a family shot. They wanted to move on, can you tell?

Isa was so kind to ride with Dev on a Orca Whale ride. Love her...but I'm guessing she didn't want it documented? I have to have proof she is the absolute best big sister any Momma could ask for!

Nana was Livi's partner the whole day. She was so good with her - she loved being the admired cousin for the day with Livi! She felt like the "oldest" she said with Livi.

Basking in the sun.

Water play time!

Madi rode the helicopter ride with Uncle JJ in the back. She was so proud of her flying skills! Go, Madi!

Bananza.

Madi wanted to ride anything she could ride. She loved it!

Goofballs riding rides like big kids. They felt so grown up not having to have me riding with them or sitting behind them. They were adorable.

Livi likes to do the driving. Dev loved just riding without Momma.

The best time for us as parents is seeing our kids gleeful with constant joy on their faces. Six Flags was nothing but giggles and excitement. They were so happy to be with their cousins/aunties/uncles/grandparents/parents riding rides and eating all the fun foods they can muster in their bellies.

We made our trek back to Reno, Nevada with a Starbucks stop and pajamas + Rio on the DVD player snuggled in their blankies and lovies.

We were staying at Homer's Uncle's house in Vallejo that was just 2 minutes from this Six Flags, we almost went there if it wasn't that we had to be on the road again. Fabulous pictures, awesome that you brought the kids swimsuits Sheree! I never quite knew you were THAT afraid of rides??!! Hehe ;)

I don't know how you all survived. You must have made many Starbucks stops! It looks like the kids had so much fun, though!
