Nana's Birthday Dinner!

Look who's turning 9! I can't believe how many pictures I didn't take of this fun little dinner. Thank you, Denise for reminding me to capture moments and then taking pictures so that I would actually capture moments! HA! And, of course for helping as always so appreciated!

Nana opted out of a "party" although clearly this looks like a party but it was just her besties over for a dinner. She wanted her favorite - Spaghetti. We did a pasta bar, mini chicken dunkers, bread and lots of dessert. Probably too much dessert but hey, that's what birthdays are all about - right?

Her Chess Club besties - Em and Sarah.

Best Buds since Kindergarten!

Em got her more fun stuff than she could have dreamed of (especially because it's everything I won't buy.) Denise and I talked about it and I knew it'd be a HIT!

examples:
*Pop Rocks
*Glow Sticks
*weird spongy squishy thingies
*water balloons
*a gazillion note pads

Besties. Nana was so obsessed with Em when she was a baby (they're a year apart) because Em was a chunk (a cute chunk) and ever since they've been inseparable at all family gatherings and play dates. I have to call for them to come down for dinner!

Nana got a Barnes and Noble Color Nook for her birthday in lieu of a big party. She loves it! She is a reading machine and has already finished a few books. So, we asked for gift cards so she could purchase apps and books with her new device.

Thanks, Zo for the gift card! Zo and Nana have been friends since the Co-Op Preschool days. Dev's best buddy, Ian are the best of friends so it works well for kid swaps.

*kid swaps = vacation away from other sibling (the beauty of having friends that are siblings!)

The best. Grandpa Eddie came over to have dinner...little did he know it was a 9 year old girl mad house. He's such a good sport and the kids terrorize him begging for piggy back rides, flips and cuddles. Poor guy! The life of a Grandpa.

Nana's friend, Sarah - they became close through Chess Club. Nana just adores Sarah. They have a lot of fun together! Her brother, Raymond is Dev's age so again it works out great for kid swaps!

Olivia. We love her. She is wild, fun and sweet all at once. To know is to love her! Her and Nana have played soccer together since 1st grade - her sister, Sophie (So-So) and Isa are very close.

Then, the loudest birthday song...ever! Warning: Daddy did say "shut it" but he meant it to be in the most loving manner. He's coach to most of them so they knew he was kidding! Or kinda kidding! Hahahah!

This was such a lovely idea! The girls seemed to all enjoy being together without having any activities planned. I know you were worried about that, but they all had a blast and the food was delish!
