Big Girl!

So, we've decided to homeschool preschool with Madi this upcoming school year. It was very successful with Dev and Isa that we're sure it'll be fine for Madi.

The only thing concerning us is socialization. Well...she gets plenty of socializing between 3 siblings and lots of volunteer hours at school but we need to make sure she has her own social networks.

We plan on signing her up for some art classes and gymnastics along with some story time and play dates. She's already working on our favorite learning website. We are practicing writing our letters and learning shapes and numbers. She knows numbers 1-12 already.

This spring, I plan on doing more science projects with her and Dev. Dev is fascinated by science and I know they'd both get a kick of experimenting. That is my big master plan...now that Chess Club is over for the year.

Fortunately, being the youngest of 4 she is a sponge. She is eager and willing to work hard like her brother and sisters. So teaching is fun for me!

And...we can learn in pajamas. Awesomeness.

Neighbor Play Dates

Speaking of socialization...the convenience of having a neighbors that have kids the same age? Instant play dates! Madi is SO in to riding her bike. Everyday she rides her bike and finally her and Nico (our neighbor) are on the same schedule so they can play.

Nico napped as their first child (and any other first child) would vs my 4th who napped in cars when she was 2.5 years old. It's nice after almost 3 years of living they're able to play outside together for hours and have a blast!

Nico comes over often and plays ponies, pet shops and trains. Madi enjoys playing with Nico! She misses her bud, Ella who goes to preschool. And, talks about her all the time so I'm glad her and Nico can play too. They seem to play very well together. Very exciting for our Madi.

Coming in after playing in the backyard to play pet shops.

Snacks. Dev had a friend over too so that's why they're so many snacks but I was glad they stopped to eat. They skipped lunch and snacked all afternoon.

Omgosh, I haven't been to your actual blog in so long. I keep reading all of my blog subscriptions through Google Reader so now that I just came here to leave a comment, I'm LOVING all the new changes you made to it! Well, maybe they're not new. :) I love the colors and the new layout. Gorgeous! I was coming to comment and thank you for the learning website link. I went there for Emma and it is perfect. She's starting preschool in September but this is wonderful for her right now. She's learning to read and those learning-to-read games are awesome! Thank you for the link!
