Family Reading Night

I had a little mini moment of burn out after the holidays and Isa's birthday. I always say "I'm gonna slow down, I'm not going to volunteer as much" then I remember why I'm a stay at home mom. I love being home and involved. I just have to learn the art of saying "no". I feel fulfilled being productive so it translates into lots of volunteering for now. I'm enjoying being around their school and until they get tired of me, I'll be there.

One event we didn't go to was Family Reading Night - the Middle Schoolers read to the kids and the students wear pjs, bring their lovies and blankies. I had been at the school all day and the thought of going back after I settled in wasn't appealing. SO, I promised them their own Family Reading Night with Daddy and me.

Isa reading from her iPad (she saved her $$ for a year to get it with help from birthday/Christmas money). She loves reading from it - so does Daddy. He hasn't read recreational in years and he sat and read for a whole Sunday afternoon. IT is very neat device and she is enjoying it!

Nana's current favorite series. She is lovin' the library right now (and so am I). I can't keep up with her! She reads a book every 3 days!

Dev just got his report card and is a super reader! He reads at a 1st Grade level - we are so proud of our Loverkins!

The sponge. She loves her Bugsby Reader. I highly recommend giving this product as a gift or for your kiddo! She LOVES her Bugsby (thank you, Grandma Kim and Grandpa Wade!) and it enhances the reading experience! She has already developed a strong passion for reading.

The fact my kids love reading makes me the happiest most proud Mommy ever! I can't even tell you. I love reading to them, I love reading with them, I love that they can sit and read contently. Family Reading Night is always a blast in the G6 House.

I would much rather cuddle at home in our jams and have reading night at our house then head out.
I'm glad it all worked out. :)
