When I say Mommies. I mean plural. How often do Mommies get to go out together? Mommies geting time to herself is certainly special but two mommy friends getting time together is even more rare (on a school day during the day).Denise from the C6's Husband took some vacation and took over the Mommy job of picking up our 1/2 day Kindergarteners + my big girls so that Denise and I could have this special day. Thanks, Dao!
She really planned on us having this special day for a couple months now and we kept saying "maybe this day..." or "maybe that day..." but what it came down to is her saying "Sheree, how about THIS DAY?" then offer her Husband's services. But WOW, what a treat - plus I think she knows me all too well. I hate imposing.
She asked what I was craving to eat at...oh man, what am I not craving??? I love to eat and have many places I love to swoop by to get a treat. In particular, bakery items. I ♥♥♥ pastries. LOVE. I mentioned a couple bakeries then...paused. Le Panier has a very special place in my heart. And, to get in and out of there with kiddies is not the easiest. Pike Place is always so busy. I was happy to go there without kiddies. Mmmmm. I had a Chocolatine. Yeah, whatcha know about that delicious thing?? Chocolate. Almond Cream. Crossiant. Heaven. Plus, they have my favorite coffee machine...the La Marzocco. Of course I had to have a latte. I still dream of having one of those bad boys in mansion some day. Hmmm, can I add that to my game of MASH? Anyway, we browsed all over Pike then decided we would find the GUM WALL.
I've lived here my whole life and have never seen this gum wall. I went on the hunt for it last December when we did our annual carousel ride downtown. I was super excited to find it and...after some peer pressure I even added to it. Gross. But, I can say that I contributed to the wall.
Thanks, Denise for going on the hunt with me.
We had a bit of time before going to our pedicure appointment at Julep. She treated me to lunch at Boom Noodle at University Village. So GOOD! I had their Yaki Udon, delicious. It's Japanese inspired foods - really they're just yumminess on a plate! Go, try it!
Denise bought a Groupon a couple months ago for Julep and invited me to share her Groupon (she certainly spoiled me) . It was part of her "let's go have a Mommy Day!" campaign. Well needed and appreciated. What a friend! Thanks so much, Denise!
Julep is such a cool place! I love that they are "green" concious with their polishes and methods. I enjoyed an orange spice cup of tea while chatting away with Denise with episodes of Friends in the background. Relaxing is what the day was. They name their nail colors women names...I originally wanted Whitney which was this soft gray but chose Vera that had a dark green tone in the gray. I always go for dark tones. Denise picked this pretty color, Jodi - it had deep orange/red tones in it. It looked lovely on her toes.
What a special day that I certainly appreciated! It was nice to connect with her without refilling juice cups or refilling more snacks or cleaning up after an art project! Thank YOU, Denise!
