Enjoying Summer...

Finally, enjoying some summer after the move madness! We had the C6 over today because A. we just ♥ 'em and B. Nana and Em were jumping off Nana's loft bed and Em hurt her ankle. :( So, in the midst of getting ready for our big trip poor Momma C. had to take Em to the doc for x-rays and all that - luckily nothing too serious, she strained her ligaments so they gave her an ace bandage. It could've been a lot worse so I'm thankful that it's not too serious.

The kids came over about noon and we ate lunch then made some cookies. Chocolate Chip-Marshmallow Cookies that were super yummy. I haven't put marshmallows in chocolate chip cookies before but the kids were dying to put some in so we did.

The little ones stirring the dry ingredients. Haley prepped it for them and then played with Madi while Dev and Pay stirred it together.

Kay (sidenote: I ♥Kay's new hair cut!) and Isa combining the wet ingredients.

The final product; they came out a bit longer because of the gooey marshmallows but still delicious.

Dev and Pay watching Clone Wars after they ate cookies.

Shortly after, the C6 left and Madi went down for a nap. It was a short play date but mind you, we'll be together tomorrow (most likely) and through Tuesday. :)

My non-napping kids decided to play tea party - I love how Dev plays along and with them. It warms a Momma's heart to see them playing together nicely.

Apparently, it seems as though I'm being treated as the paparazzi! Sheesh, can't capture memories with the tea saucer in your face, Isa!!

Tonight it'll be washing our camping stuff (to only wash it again when we get back!) and preparing ourselves for our journey to Orcas Island - packing day packs for the kids and making more yummies to take along. We are so so so so excited!! A well needed family getaway for both families!

YUM, marshmallows in cookies, your kids are smart! I'm excited for your camping trip too! Can't wait to see pictures.

Today my coworker made mention of trail mix and I told her about you having your kids make their own. She thought it was a great idea...although her kids are in their 20's and might not be as excited about it ;) Have a great weekend!
