So, this is probably the ultimate big toy experience. I kept trying to explain to the kids how lucky they are to experience riding on big machines. It's not like you could walk up to a job site and say "hey, could you give me a ride on your machine?" Yeah, that's a negative.
I should back up and give you some background...Husband's Dad, Grandpa Eddie, works at a big machine dealer and shop. Which translates to he can drive and fix anything on wheels. He invited us down to the work yard, where Husband too has played on the machines as a kiddo. It was very special that the kids were able to do this and that Grandpa Eddie could share this part of his life with them.
Now for the pictorials...
Um, I have a hard time with specific names because my education comes from Bob the Builder. So, we'll call this one...Scoop.
I think Grandpa liked this one, it's smaller and he was able to do donuts out there. :) The kids had a blast with him.
This was the first machine he brought out-the Excavator-and I thought it was neat how it lifted off the ground. I think these machines would be so confusing to drive because you can spin the top and I can see myself getting confused as to which is the front.
Amazing how small every one looks to the very large machine. Another thing I learned is that steel on concrete is like nails on a chalkboard. Holy Spamoney...I was the only one cringing. Of course because Husband and Grandpa Eddie's ears are probably so accustomed to hearing such pleasant sounds. :) Grandpa Eddie, thanks for sharing your work with us. We had the bestest (the kids literally said bestest) time!!!
