Rainy Days = Puzzles and Cartoons

Yesterday, I took Madi to the doc because she has had this lingering cold with a slight fever. I am thinking great it's either croup or an ear infection. Can someone explain why it takes so long at the doc's office? Husband came with me because it was our first visit with a different doc. I knew there would be paperwork and with Dev it's not so productive. It's the exact opposite of productive. Isa is in the mountains at her friend's cabin. She's snowmobiling and sledding. Lucky duck. Nana had Isa's (since she was away) MP3 player (from Santa) so I knew she'd be busy singing HSM soundtrack. She is always the least of my worries when it comes to keeping her busy. She can keep herself busy with two stir sticks and a napkin at Starbucks. My little man is a different story. I was figuring I'd be about an hour and an 1/2. Husband was going to keep Dev busy in the lobby or in the car--where ever would keep most busy. Anyway, found out that everything is okay--no antibotics (yay!). She has bronchiolitis. I was reading up on it...it says it's most common in infants who aren't breast fed. Well, we know that's not the case. I have issues getting her away from the breast. But, I'm glad it wasn't something more serious.

Our mission today was to relax. Take it easy and get well for school and preschool next week. We had a slow morning. The kids have been on vacation mode. Sleeping until 9:30am, eating breakfast at 10am, watching cartoons (this consists of OnDemand--Thomas the Train, Fireman Sam and Little Einsteins) and doing puzzles. We have 1 puzzle that Dev loves to do it's a map of the U.S. of America and it's hard!! But for Christmas, thanks Grandpa E.!, he got a Cars Puzzle.

Do you see "Baby McQueen" in the right corner?

Now, usually when you explain how to do a puzzle to a kid you say "pick out all the pieces with edges" first. This puzzle didn't really have true edges so I picked out the puzzle pieces with the edges and had them try to figure out who's face it was or match the color of the car to the faces of the car it belonged to on the puzzle. It was a lot of fun and challenging...especially for Mommy. Just kidding sort of.
